By Eric Coates. By Eric Coates. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Patriotic. 91 pages. Kevin Riley #1069754. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1493082).

Music While You Work was a daytime radio programme of continuous live popular music broadcast in the United Kingdom twice daily on workdays from 23 June 1940 ]until 29 September 1967 by the BBC. Initially, the morning edition was generally broadcast on the BBC Home Service at 10:30am, with the afternoon edition at 3pm on the Forces/General Forces Programme - and after the war on the BBC Light Programme. Between August 1942 and July 1945, a third edition was broadcast at 10:30pm for night-shift workers.

The programme began in World War II with the idea that playing non-stop popular/light music at an even tempo would help factory workers become more productive.[4][5] It originally consisted of live music (light orchestras, dance bands, brass and military bands and small instrumental ensembles). In order to make studios more available during the day, it was decided in 1963 that the shows would be pre-recorded (often in the evening or on Sundays).

Composed by Panagiotis Theodossiou. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 157 pages. Panagiotis Theodossiou #5753415. Published by Panagiotis Theodossiou (A0.886728).

Work written in 2018 a thesis for composer's postgraduate studies in Musical Department of Ionian University (Composition for Vocal and Instrumental Ensembles).
It is based on the, under the same title ('Premonition'), poem by the 19th century British-Canadian poet Robert William Service (1874 - 1958). Point of departure is the eternal conflict between light and darkness, hope and despair, vision and nightmare, spiritual formation and inner confusion, being together and being apart, past and future, life and death. Leading by love (eros), a series of sudden thoughts and premonitions and the composer's inner visions on Service's text is a vehicle, a canvas for this composition. It follows a multilanguage style between serial-atonal and tonal idiom. It consists of an introduction which is repeated variated at the end as an epilogue and nine variations, each of a different character - independent but following one another without a pause:
1. Introduction, Sudden Thoughts (Severo)
2. Var.I. Towards the Light (Lento ambiamente)
3. Var.II.Nightmare - Shadows' Chase (Allegro deciso)
4. Var.III. Hope (Lento mystico)
5. Var.IV. Moonlight Wandering (Valse noire) (Poco piu mosso)
6. Var.V.Vision i, An Imaginary Procession (L' istesso tempo)
7.Var.VI.Vision ii, Butterflies - An Unexpected Love Affair (Valse d'amour) (Allegro)
8.Var.VΙI. Depression and Relief (Illusion) (Grave)
9.Var.VIII. Contemplation Waltz (Passacaglia) (Con moto)
10.Var.IΧ. Confusion - A Broken Heart (Moderato)
11. Finale. Last Thought (Tempo primo)

Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Latin,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 88 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #15873. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869354).

Instrumentation: solo flute & 2222-2221-timp-2perc-strings.

Program note:
I lived in São Paulo, Brazil, during my teenage years, from 1959 to 1966. Consequently, the samba and the bossa nova are forever engraved into my heart. So, when Larry Tamburri, Executive Director of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, proposed that I write a flute concerto for Bart Feller, principal flutist of the NJSO, he (Larry) thought it would be most appropriate if I wrote something inspired by my musical experiences in Brazil. The result is Flauta Carioca, literally meaning, flute in the manner of the people of Rio de Janeiro.

The work is in three movements. The first is a chôro, an instrumental ensemble music that features a soloist that is often virtuosic when it is fast, and lyrical when it is slow. The second movement is a bossa nova. It features Bart on the alto flute and the music is very luscious and sexy. The listener can fantasize about Rio and the beach at Ipanema. The last movement begins with a slow introduction, a pastorale. Without a break, a forró enters in the strings, followed immediately by the percussion. Forró is party music, and this last movement is all about dancing. As a matter of fact, Bart wants to party all night ... The evening finally ends when someone turns the light out!!!
