Music is a 1976 single by John Miles, from his album Rebel, produced by Alan Parsons. It was successful in Europe reaching #1 on the Dutch Singles Chart, #3 on the UK Singles Chart and #10 on the German Singles Chart. It reached #88 on the Billboard Hot 100.[4] In 1982 the song was rereleased in The Netherlands and reached #4.

The song was re-released in November 2009, in collaboration with the Belgian dance-act Sylver, of which Miles's son (guitarist John Miles jr.) is part of.

Midnight Cowboy is a 1969 American drama film, based on the 1965 novel of the same name by James Leo Herlihy. The film was written by Waldo Salt, directed by John Schlesinger, and stars Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight, with notable smaller roles being filled by Sylvia Miles, John McGiver, Brenda Vaccaro, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Salt, and Barnard Hughes. Set in New York City, Midnight Cowboy depicts the unlikely friendship between two hustlers: naïve sex worker Joe Buck (Voight), and ailing con man Enrico Ratso Rizzo (Hoffman). At the 42nd Academy Awards, the film won three awards: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Midnight Cowboy is the only X-rated film ever to win Best Picture. It has since been placed 36th on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American films of all time, and 43rd on its 2007 updated version. In 1994, Midnight Cowboy was deemed culturally, historically or aesthetically significant by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

The Mineola was written in 1890 by John W. Hawd and arranged for full orchestra for the Centennial Celebration of the Villlage of Mineola, New York (1906 - 2006). Located approximately 25 miles East of New York City on Long Island, Mineola is the governing seat of Nassau County. The name Mineola was derived from the Algonquin Meniolagamika which means a friendly and pleasant village. The Mineola Waltz was premiered on January 29, 2006 by the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra. Founded in 1984 by its director, Louis Panacciulli, the NPSO continues to maintain a year round performance schedule. This charming, lilting waltz will be a welcome addition to any concert setting and in particular that Spring Pops and summer in the park in the under the gazebo concert. The Mineola has a light, Viennese quality that will delight audiences of all ages.

The Rap Symphony for large orchestra featuring two rappers is about a transitional society, a society that is shifting from the word to the image. Our civilization once used to believe in depth and reading and art; now abstract thought is changing into a simplistic, superficial society where one is consumed with the quick Starbucks or Twitter fix. It's all lightness of being today. We don't celebrate anticipation anymore, people don't want to put the time in. This symphony is about the collapse of that whole ethos. The phrase in the lyrics that says 'kill the philharmonic' doesn't mean that literally. It's a metaphor for a society that has no use for the philharmonic. We're losing these things. Pretty soon John Coltrane and Miles Davis, along with all jazz and classic music, will become museum pieces. We used to have a culture that cherished these, but in a super simplistic society, there's just no room for them.
