This piece is inspired by Terry Riley's In C. Repetitions is a solo for found objects and The Repeater Orchestra, a free program online that mimics live sounds in real time, and plays them back in a stereo/spacial environment. It has non-standard notation in a way, with single bits written on a staff arranged in an order to play them. The player is given freedom to repeat things as many times as they want, making the piece possible to play in under 2 minutes, to well into the dozens. In my interpretation (shown in the YouTube video), it takes around 11 minutes. This piece is about making a soundscape of repeated patterns, and overlapping and combining them to create one conglomerate. Instruments include: planks of wood, a bucket of water, ceramic tiles, a glass bottle with marbles in it, a can, and a separate glass bottle for hitting. Implements include: a 2 paintbrush, a ring, rubber xylophone mallets, and oak dowel rods with Moleskin wrapped on one tip. Note, I apologize for the feedback near the first third of the recording, I had to adjust the settings, and did not hear the feedback as hard as the computer did!

It represents a wedding between Doña Lucrecia de Castilla and Don Tomás Rainer with the intention of making an alliance between Turkey and Spain. The investigation of this dance and its original music was made possible thanks to Aracely Sánchez  (cultural researcher),  Marcial Gudiel (folkloric dance researcher), and Concepción Clará de Guevara (anthropologist) for the creation of the work “Panchimalco� in 1982 work that was commissioned by the National Dance School of El Salvador “Morena Celarié�. The editors of the “Diccionario de la Música Española e Hispanoamericana� (Dictionary of Spanish and Hispanic Music) found this dance was unique in its genre in America and the Caribbean making “Los Chapetones� something exclusive from El Salvador.  For this work, a part of each one of the sones is transformed in its rhythm or intervals to put them in melodies or in lines for the bass that have been harmonized in a different way while interacting with themes created especially for this work. The title, which in Nahuat means to marry, also serves as a reference to the union between the traditional themes used and the composer’s own musical language. Munamiktia (To marry) was written for the Salvadoran Composers Competition organized by the Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) in Washington, DC. Given its originality, the Jury decided, after a long deliberation, to award it second place. The World Premiere will take place during their 21/22 season after PASO resumes activities due to COVID.* The actual World Premiere took place on March 25th, 2023 in Washington D.C. This song is a folk ditty. One of the lyrics describes the plight of residents in Fengyang County, Anhui Province in the early Ming Dynasty, and insinuates that Zhu Yuanzhang failed to take care of the people in his hometown, making them unable to settle down and live in their hometown. The string part of this adapted version is derived from the arrangement by composer Bob Phillips, and the wind and percussion parts are configured according to the characteristics of traditional Chinese music, making it a complete symphonic work. Also, I was trying to add saxophone section into my orchestration to enhance and support the middle timbre of the orchestra, because the saxophone has a deeper sound to across the strings and woodwinds smoothly.This adapted version is suitable for students with beginning level in orchestra performance, allowing students to feel the charm of symphonic music with simple techniques, and experience traditional Chinese culture and history.

I have, in a like manner, allowed a simple line of melody, first introduced by the violin, to speak a musical tale. The violin, full of the exuberance and energy of youth, threads through the story’s themes and shadow themes, weaving a mosaic of sound through each episode. Shadow themes are melodies that are acoustically derived from one another like shadows. At first these themes perform supportive roles, but as the story moves forward, they gain in the dominance of pitch and dynamic. Sometimes running ahead of passage, making aggressive commentary, and sometimes aligning with the emotional expression of the phrase, the violin shifts between a mere exercise of notes to a noble exploration of broadening lyricism. Other than the fact that Sousa’s “thunderer” was undoubtedly a Mason, his identity may never be revealed. “The Thunderer” march was dedicated to Columbia Commandery No. 2, Knights Templar, of Washington, D.C., and it was composed on the occasion of the Twenty-fourth Triennial Conclave of the Grand Encampment. The conclave was held in October 1889 and was sponsored by Columbia Commandery No. 2. Sousa had been “knighted” in that organization three years earlier.“The Thunderer” was Mrs. John Philip Sousa’s favorite march. This was revealed by their daughter Helen, who also surmised that the “thunderer” might have been her father’s salute to the London Times, which was known as “the thunderer.” It has since been determined that Sousa probably had no association with the newspaper at that time, however. The “thunderer” might have been one of the men in charge of making arrangements for the 1889 conclave–in particular, Myron M. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008425). Glazunov's orchestral repertoire includes two famous waltzes op. 47 and 51. Big concert waltz op. 41 was written exclusively for piano. I had a great desire to change the salon scale of this work, moving it to the concert stage, making a transcription for piano with a large symphony orchestra. The structure and periodicity of the musical form allowed me to realize this idea as a dialogue, a duet of a soloist and an orchestra. In some episodes, only the orchestra or only the solo piano sounds, while a number of other places are more like a typical concert for piano and orchestra. I hope this new transcription should be of an interest for  both, pianists and conductors. Considering the compactness of the sound (7 minutes), this piece could, for example, decorate a concert program after performing a concert for piano and orchestra as an encore.
