Prisoner Of The Sea is a symphonic poem in which the composer recalls when He almost drowned at sea. Images of wave crashing, turbulent waters, imminent tragedy, as well as happy moments, are all succeeding as the music progresses. Many sections that contrast in character, exhibit themes that are repeated, transformed, or varied. Meter and tempo changes, mixed harmonies, and rhythmic syncopations help the story to unfold with dramatic musical associations.
