Through self-hypnosis, he wishes himself back in time to the year 1912 to find love with actress Elise McKenna (portrayed by Seymour), but comes into conflict with Elise's manager, William Fawcett Robinson (portrayed by Plummer), who fears that romance will derail her career, and resolves to stop him. The film is known for its musical score composed by John Barry, featuring pianist Roger Williams. The 18th variation of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini also appears several times.

Full Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1250317 Composed by Luis Diego Piedra. Classical,Instructional. Score and Parts. 53 pages. Piedra Music #844625. Published by Piedra Music (A0.1250317). El Cerro de la Muerte is translated to The Mountain of Death and it is the name of a mountain range in Costa Rica. When I was growing up, it was necessary to drive through it in order to go to the beach on the west coast. The mountain is filled with pictoresque sights as well as deep, dangerous cliffs with tough, steep hills that are hard even for cars. This piece is a mini tone poem describing a journey through this mountain, with some quotations from Verdi's Dies Irae as well as Beethoven's fifth, and Paganini's Capriccio No. 24. It is a fun piece.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835244 Composed by B.A. Robertson and John Barry. Arranged by Claudio Porstmann. Contemporary,Film/TV. 20 pages. Claudio Porstmann #4991661. Published by Claudio Porstmann (A0.835244). This beautiful melody by John Barry was used for the 80s movie Somewhere in Time with Jane Seymour and Chritopher Reeve, considered by some to be the most romantic movie ever. This arrangement for string orchestra is complemented by piano which also has some solo parts like a mini piano concerto. Actually, the piece draws from two melodic sources, the main theme by John Barry, as well as a second theme composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff, who in turn wrote it as a series of variations based on a theme by Paganini. The piece itsself is not too complicated, but does need an intermediate level to be able to play; the piano part should be performed by someone with advanced intermediate skills, as it has some flashy passages. You can listen to the complete piece here:https://soundcloud.com/claudio-porstmann/somewhere-in-time-movie-theme-john-barry

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1259406 Composed by G. Faure. Arranged by A. Leytush. 19th Century. 73 pages. Arkady Leytush #852693. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1259406). In the orchestral transcription this opus originally written for piano acquires a new scale and different timbre sound. At the same time, the variation form of development is emphasized by the full composition of the full orchestra used here. On the example of this composition the continuity is noticeable of Faure - Rachmaninoff in character, style and development. This music could be brilliantly companies with Rachmaninoff’s – “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini†in one program.
