Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1191544 Composed by Stephan Langenberg. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Patriotic,Traditional. Score and Parts. 89 pages. Stephan Langenberg #791046. Published by Stephan Langenberg (A0.1191544). (engl.) The orchestral work „moments of memory“, inspired by the pieces Last Post and Auld Lang Syne, is an emotional and powerful composition that takes the listener on a journey through the past. The sounds of the trumpet in Last Post create a mood of dignity and respect, while Auld Lang Syne with its familiar melodies and lyrics creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and connection. The work skillfully weaves these elements together to create a musical narrative that evokes both sublime and familiar feelings. From solemn trumpet sounds to the gentle choir and string passages, the orchestral work offers an impressive spectrum of emotions and sounds that will captivate the listener.(deu.) On that day, amid accompanying splendour, the music-loving Grand Duke Michail Nikolaievich (1832-1909), youngest brother of Tsar Alexander II, married Princess Caecilie of Baden (1839-91), daughter of Archduke Leopold of Baden. Johann Strauss, who at that time was giving a summer season of concerts in nearby Pavlovsk, used the opportunity occasioned by the event to enhance his already enviable popularity with the Russian royal family and composed the Caecilien-Polka in honour of the lovely young bride. Indeed, it is clear from a letter which Johann wrote in late July 1857 to Carl Haslinger, his publisher in Vienna, that the new polka had been prepared well in advance of the wedding (the fair copy of the full orchestral score made for the publisher's engraver is dated 9 August) and was enjoying success even before the royal couple's official engagement on 16August 1857. Sometime after performing the Caecilien-Polka in Pavlovsk, Johann despatched the work to the Austrian capital where his brother Josef conducted its Viennese première, together with that of Johann's waltz Telegraphische Depeschen (op. 195, Volume 28), at his own benefit concert in the Volksgartenon Sunday 18 October 1857. The Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (16.10.1857) remarked that both works have caused a sensation in St. Petersburg and are truly genial Viennese sounds full of verve and melody. Since tradition demanded that the German Princess Caecilie adopt a Russian name - Olga Feodorovna - before her marriage, so Johann's Caecilien-Polka also underwent a change of identity. On 8 December 1857 Carl Haslinger announced the publication of Strauss's Olga-Polka, on the title page of which is the inscription: Dedicated to her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Olga, née Princess of Baden. It was under this title, too, that Johann himself first conducted the work in Vienna at a concert in the Volksgarten on 1 November 1857, shortly after his return from Russia. Reporting on this event, the Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (3.11.1857) observed: The 'Olga-Polka' is a most delightful, fragrant musical bouquet, full of fine, gracious rhythms. Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q40349 Composed by Alexander Borodin. This edition: study score. Ernst Eulenburg - Orchestra - Score. Eulenburg Miniature Scores. Downloadable, Study score. Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital #Q40349. Published by Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital (S9.Q40349). Key: B minor. German • English • French. It took Borodin almost five years to write his first symphony, and the composition of 'Symphony No. 2' was to take just as much time. One should not forget, however, that music was mainly a leisure activity for the professor of organic chemistry in St. Petersburg. His work on 'Prince Igor' begun after the world premiere of Symphony No. 1 finished in favour of the second symphony, but part of the musical material found its way into the new composition, and even the extant programme testifies to the critical analysis of the music theatre: the gathering of Russian warriors in the first movement, the Old Slavonic bard in the andante, and the party scene to the sounds of the gusli in the finale.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1130199 Composed by Anton Rubinstein. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 19th Century. 107 pages. Arkady Leytush #730561. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1130199). Anton Rubinstein Concert Suite from “Bal costumeâ€, Op. 103 1. Polonais et polonaise 2. Toréador et andalouse 3. Pacha et almée 4. Pêcheur napolitain et napolitaine This concert suite was composed and orchestrated by me from 4 bright numbers “Bal costumeâ€, op. 103. Their strong contrasting imagery, theatricality and ingenuity provided an excellent opportunity for development in the orchestra and served as the impetus for this orchestral transcription. In addition to popularizing the work of A. Rubinstein as a composer, this music itself can become an adornment of many symphonic programs. The role and significance of Anton Rubinstein for the development of academic music in Russia is invaluable. His powerful and versatile talent manifested itself in everything he did. He remained in the history of music as an unsurpassed pianist and conductor, and as a great composer, and as the founder of the Russian Musical Society, and as the organizer of the First Russian Conservatory in St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, this all-encompassing contribution to Russian musical culture and his place in it have not yet been sufficiently appreciated by his descendants, and there are traditionally painful reasons for this. He still cannot be forgiven for his origin and some critical statements about his colleagues, which hang like a stone over the memory of this great maestro and man!

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1118521 Composed by Howard Blake. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Christmas,Film/TV. Score and parts. 53 pages. Kevin Riley #720042. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1118521). Walking in the Air is a song written by Howard Blake for the 1982 animated film The Snowman based on Raymond Briggs' 1978 children's book of the same name. The song forms the centrepiece of The Snowman, which has become a seasonal favourite on British and Finnish television. The story relates the fleeting adventures of a young boy and a snowman who has come to life. In the second part of the story, the boy and the snowman fly to the North Pole. Walking in the Air is the theme for the journey. They attend a party of snowmen, at which the boy seems to be the only human until they meet Father Christmas with his reindeer, and the boy is given a scarf with a snowman pattern. In the film, the song was performed by St Paul's Cathedral choirboy Peter Auty, and reissued in 1985 (on Stiff Records) and 1987. In 1985, an altered version was recorded for use in a TV advertising campaign for Toys R Us. As Auty's voice had then broken, Blake recommended the then-14-year-old Welsh chorister Aled Jones, whose recording reached number five in the UK Singles Chart, and who became a popular celebrity on the strength of his performance. The association of the song with Jones, combined with Auty not being credited on The Snowman, led to a common misbelief that Jones performed the song in the film. Walking in the Air has subsequently been performed by over forty artists, in a variety of styles. In a UK poll in 2012, the Aled Jones version was voted 13th on the ITV television special The Nation's Favourite Christmas Song.
