Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1091551 Composed by George Gershwin. 20th Century,Classical,Film/TV,Jazz. Score and parts. 253 pages. Szüts Apor #695728. Published by Szüts Apor (A0.1091551). In 1930, George Gershwin, together with his brother Ira, was invited to go to Hollywood to provide the music for the film Delicious. He spent seven weeks on the score only to find that just four songs (Blah, Blah, Blah; Delicious; Katinkitschka; Somebody from Somewhere), a five-minute Dream Sequence and one minute from a six-minute orchestral sequence called New York Rhapsody would be incorporated in the film. When he went back to New York in February 1931, George had decided to use the material from the six-minute sequence to work into a concert piece and had sketched some of it. Some of the material was jettisoned: the Manhattan Rhapsody opens with the main romantic theme in 6/8 time arranged for piano and solo cello. The rest of the film sequence was radically rearranged and rescored. Gershwin completed the fourteen-minute piece by May. The new work was titled Rhapsody in Rivets during his sketching, but later he could not decide between New York Rhapsody and Manhattan Rhapsody. George Gershwin settled on Second Rhapsody.

Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: IZ.OMS171 Composed by Kenneth Piotrowski. Score and Parts. 129 pages. Duration 13'. Imagine Music - Digital #OMS171. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.OMS171). 9 x 12 in inches.Although the word Anishinaabeg, best translated as those whence descended or the noble people, refers to many of thenumerous Algonquin indigenous peoples of North America, it is here used specifically in reference to the Ojibwe of theUpper Peninsula of Michigan. It was here that the composer spent many summers and it was those memories that allowedthe Anishinaabeg Rhapsody to come into being. This particular composition is a symphonic tone poem which, unlike the majority of orchestral music which is able to standalone as pure musical thought, evokes historic, pictorial or literary subject matter. In other words, the composer paintsimages and thoughts through sound. The Anishinaabeg Rhapsody, which is scored for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, English horn, 3 clarinets in Bb, 2 bassoons, 4 horns andstrings, conjures images of the wind gently blowing through the pines, the purling of meandering streams, the rippling andwaving of grasslands, the thunderous waterfalls crashing hundreds of feet over cliffs into Lake Superior; in short, it portraysNature itself.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1049004 Composed by An-lun Huang. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 61 pages. DoReMi Edition #653398. Published by DoReMi Edition (A0.1049004). Chinese Rhapsody No.3 was composed e in Toronto, Canada , 1988. Huang dedicated the piece to the Canadian Saxophonist Paul Brodie who premiered it in Parry sound of Ontario in the same year. Written in Saibei Folk Style, the music is divided into 5 movements without stop. As usual, Huang didn‘t use any folk song . But the typical taste of Huang’s “Zhang Jia Kou[張家å£] accent†is pretty easy to be identified. With the concert virtuosity, the 1st movement is composed as an emotional Cadenza which expresses the profound affections to the land of Saibei. Using the same Alto Sax., the lyric 2nd movement is followed by a folk dance, the 3rd movement. Chang to a Soprano Saxophone, the 4th movement is sound like a dreamy nocturne which is interrupted by the percussions of the fiery 5th movement. The whole Rhapsody ends on a climax of the Chinese Northern west “wind and percussion “styleâ€. Brodie found more than 300 trills in this piece. Perhaps this is the key to perform the music in real Chinese style. Huang has composed 5 versions of these pieces for different ensembles: saxophone solo with piano, or strings, or winds/brasses, or Chinese traditional orchestra, or symphony orchestra. The attached mp3 was performed by the German saxophonist Jurgen Demmler with pianist Peter Grabinger in 1996. Duration: 20’.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1136095 By Queen. By Freddie Mercury. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop. Score and parts. 92 pages. Kevin Riley #736122. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1136095). Bohemian Rhapsody is a song by the British rock band Queen, released as the lead single from their fourth album, A Night at the Opera (1975). Written by lead singer Freddie Mercury, the song is a six-minute suite, notable for its lack of a refraining chorus and consisting of several sections: an intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda. It is one of the few progressive rock songs of the 1970s to achieve widespread commercial success and appeal to a mainstream audience.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1359676 Composed by George Gershwin. Arranged by Arianna Cunningham, Darren Rodney. Classical,Film/TV,Historic,Jazz,Standards. 206 pages. Arianna Cunningham #944147. Published by Arianna Cunningham (A0.1359676). As many of you know, Rhapsody in Blue is one of George Gershwin's most famous and iconic pieces of music history, if not, of all time! But in case you guys don't know, there are actually 3 different versions of the same piece Gershwin wrote. These 3 versions include: The original Jazz Band 1924 version, 1927 version, and the most iconic well-known full symphony orchestra 1942 version that everyone plays nowadays. Not only that, but in the 1942 version, the extended part of the Shuffle Theme, as well as the extended Piano Cadenzas have been cut for duration time. So, in honor of Gershwin's Legacy, I've put together a special arrangement written for a full orchestra, and it even includes tons of heavy influences taken mostly from the 1924 version, even taking influences from different live performances that are inspired. These changes include the following:Adding back in the extended shuffle theme and Piano CadenzasAdded a Harp Part to make the arrangement a little Phil Spitalny Hour Of Charm-esque flavor to it.Brought back in the Bari Sax and Orchestral Piano parts, even though they sort of look different from the original score.Swapped a few solo/soli sections here and there while still keeping some of the 1924/42 elements (for instance the 2 Violin Soli, or Low Instruments Soli) in tact. You obviously get the idea.A huge thanks to one of my newest and closest friends who also have arranging experiences Darren Rodney for helping me put this incredible arrangement together!
