This beautiful duet by Stephen Schwartz comes from the wonderful Dreamworks animated classic The Prince Of Egypt and is sung as the Hebrews find their confidence to follow Moses out of Egypt to the Promised Land.  It was sung in the film by Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Sworsky but was also recorded by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey for the end credits and released as an iconic chart topping single.  

This arrangement is in the original film soundtrack key, configured for soprano and baritone soloists, with optional SATB chorus, but it can still be sung by two female soloists if desired.

This version is a lush dramatic orchestral soundscape which would be suitable for any symphonic concert with vocalists celebrating Film and/or Musicals (since it transferred to the West End stage in 2020).

Suitable for a professional or advanced intermediate ensemble.

This song is just one of so many fantastic powerful female vocalist songs in the Broadway and West End smash hit musical WICKED composed by Stephen Schwartz, a clever prequel story to The Wizard of Oz.   The song encapsulates the excitement of the principal character Elphaba (who later we find infamously and misleadingly becomes the Wicked Witch of the West) at the prospect - as a young wizarding student - of meeting and being recognised as a talentd young witch by the Great Wizard of Oz himself.
