Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1148784 Composed by Rowland H Prichard. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Holiday,Religious. Score and Parts. 35 pages. Mark R Lewis #748921. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1148784). Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus is a lovely Advent hymn. The text was written by Charles Wesley and has been used in Advent services regularly since it was written in the 1740s. The text has been set to many tunes but the one used in this version is Hyfrydol, This tune was written by Rowland Prichard about 100 years after Wesley's text and is used extensively in many hymnals but especially for this particular text. This arrangement is for orchestra with optional 3-5 octave handbell choir. The handbell arrangement unusual in that the 4 octave version does require the use of the F3 bell. Other than that this is a relatively simple, if thickly orchestrated, arrangement. There are three sections using different methods of music making, the first is a fairly straightforward setting, the second focuses on short sounds in the melody which is also in the lower voices, and the third explores musical canon before bringing back a more traditional musical setting. There are two distinct parts for most instruments with a few splitting more. Flutes, trumpets, and trombones have three parts. The trombone 3 part is intended to be bass trombone but should be playable on regular trombone and if any section only has two divisions, the lower voice should have more players unless otherwise notated. That applies to flutes and trumpets as well. There are four horn parts that do not split. The timpani part should be playable on two drums with active pedaling to change notes mid-piece, although four drums is perfectly acceptable.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1375804 Composed by French Canadian Carol and Gustav Holst. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Holiday,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. 70 pages. Mark R Lewis #960352. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1375804). In Bleak Midwinter's Moonlight is a medley of two Christmas carols, In the Bleak Midwinter and Twas in the Moon of Wintertime. The first carol was originally written as a poem by Christina Rossetti and published in 1872. It has been set to music several times, but the tune most associated with the text, Cranham, was composed in 1906 by Gustav Holst. The second carol is a French-Canadian Christmas carol first written by a Jesuit missionary in 1642. This tune is also called the Huron Carol. This medley is written for orchestra with 3-5 octave bell choir and goes back and forth between the two carols several times. Every time the carol changes there is a key change, sometimes between related major and minor keys and sometimes between two closely related keys. The melody is carried by the low, middle, and high ranges of the bells at some point in the piece and the accompanying voices are quite active throughout most of arrangement. Within the orchestra parts, the melody switches between woodwinds, brass, and strings several times, exploring several different sound colors throughout the piece. In Bleak Midwinter's Moonlight is between the level 3 and level 4 range of difficulty. There are definitely passages that will require work and the multiple key changes require multiple handbell changes, but bell changes are never very abrupt and accidentals only happen in the transition passages. The most difficult part will probably be making sure the melody is always heard even when it is buried below active accompaniment. A few times the bass bells have quick passages that will require sharing of bells or a lot of practice. For orchestra, this piece should be playable by most intermediate players, though some brass parts push the comfortable extremes of the instrument.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.829321 Composed by Text: Charles Wesley / Music by Lewis Edson and Lyndell Leatherman. Arranged by Lyndell Leatherman. Christian,Sacred. Score and parts. 66 pages. Leatherman Music Services #5742211. Published by Leatherman Music Services (A0.829321). This is the orchestral accompaniment for a big four-minute festival choir arrangement (with the octavo posted separately on Sheet Music Plus). It begins with a choir and brass fanfare which introduces the exuberance of the Charles Wesley text. This would be ideal for sacred music conferences or use by faith-based university choirs and orchestras, especially schools connected to the Wesleyan/Holiness tradition. The ultimate would be to have the Mormon Tabernacle choir and orchestra perform it (please, Mr. Wilberg!) :-)

Boogie is a bright, up tempo piece for band with added strings.  It will fit into almost any program or occasion. Reminisce of the 1950’s Bill Haley and the Comets or Jerry Lee Lewis, it’s a great addition to any ’50 or ’60 concert!  Although suitable for any ensemble, it’s particularly appropriate for bringing the entire school music department together.  Parts are repetitive which will aid in learning.  An opportunity to introduce / show case your budding pianist in a fourteen-measure solo section.  A complete string orchestra could be reduced to a string quartet with an electric bass  being substituted for the double bass section. Duration is: 2.49.

The well-known 19th Century ballad written by Hank Pease Danks & Eben Eugene Rexford is still popular among the public, and as a testament of its popularity, it gets a majestic yet peaceful orchestral arrangement in this occasion even with a modern harmonization that yet still supports the tune. This arrangement features nice spots for flute, bassoon, English horn & clarinet as well as the French horn & string sections. The bass clarinet is also included in a duet with the bassoon [although in the original recording one of the French horns was in place of the bass clarinet]. This arrangement can be useful for opening or closing your concert as well as an interlude in a pacific way! About Digital DownloadsDigital Downloads are downloadable sheet music files that can be viewed directly on your computer, tablet or mobile device. Brett A Foster #6474837. Published by Brett A Foster (A0.1025679). I Was Only Nineteen, I Was Only 19 or A Walk in the Light Green is the most widely recognised song by Australian folk group Redgum. The song was released in March 1983 as a single, which hit number one for two weeks. This version has been created for Full Orchestra (with optional TTB choral parts). The piece should be easily playable by Intermediate level Full Orchestra. There are optional parts for English Horn, Clarinet 3, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone & Contra Bassoon. The piano part is important for the core rhythms section, as is the guitar. The Violin 1 parts does go into third position towards the end, but all other string parts stay in first position. The song itself is a first-person account of a typical Australian soldier's experience in the Vietnam War, from training at a military academy in Australia to first hand exposure to military operations and combat, and ultimately his return home disillusioned and suffering from both PTSD and, it is implied, the harmful effects of Agent Orange. This piece would work well at any ANZAC Day or Memorial Day event for the Armed services.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004734 Composed by Adrian Gagiu. 20th Century,Classical. Score and parts. 524 pages. Adrian Gagiu #6631587. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1004734). Fourth Symphony in E flat major Homage to Beethoven (2003, revised 2021), a Neo-Classical symphony based on Beethoven's sketches for his Tenth Symphony, like a speculative reconstruction. In 1822-1827, the fascinating Tenth Symphony (Biamonti 838) was one of Beethoven’s relatively advanced projects, but still it was at the beginning of its elaboration. The material is not quite abundant, and many secondary features in the concept sketches could have been modified, according to his working habits, should he have lived a few years more. For a true reconstruction, the sketches are too scarce, but they are also too good to be left aside and very stimulating for a composer, especially for one whose formation is indebted to Beethoven and who is willing to pay him homage. I have chosen a Neo-Classical idiom, an approach analogous to Stravinsky’s The Fairy’s Kiss (after Tchaikovsky). For such a work, the thorough study of fundamental articles on Beethoven’s projects and sketches (by Barry Cooper, Sieghard Brandenburg, Robert Winter, Martin Staehelin, Nicholas Cook, and Lewis Lockwood) was a necessity. Then, in 2021, the symphony was heavily revised, mainly to make it terser and truer to the sketches and to Classical practices For this symphony, all the thematic material is Beethoven’s, and also the general outline, as much as the latter could be inferred from his sketches. In its revised version, I made use only of the sketches clearly identifiable as intended for the Tenth Symphony and dating from 1822 and later years (most of the themes of its corresponding movements), but also of a few other sketches, most of them contemporary or relatable, unused or intended for other compositions: in the continuation to the second subject group in the first movement, in the second strains of the Presto and of its Trio, and in the transitions and the episodes in the Finale. The symphony has 4 movements and is scored for a normal concert orchestra, including 3 trombones. The revised version makes use also of a contrabassoon, to support the double basses and suggesting a stronger presence of the winds like in the larger scale concerts in the Classical era (usually with doubled winds).Total duration: 34 min. Performing Rights Organization: SOCAN. The mp3 audio clip is a recording of the first movement (Andante-Allegro-Andante).
