The Ukrainian National Anthem is an anthem that was adopted by the Ukrainian government in 2003. It is based on the song “Shche ne vmerla Ukrayina� which was written by Pavlo Chubynsky in 1862. The song was written as a response to the Russian occupation of Ukraine. The song was very popular in Ukraine and is considered to be one of the most important symbols of Ukrainian identity.

The lyrics of the anthem call for Ukraine to remain strong and united. The song speaks of the Ukrainian people's courage, resilience and patriotism. It also speaks of the beauty of the Ukrainian land and its people. The anthem is a call to action and a reminder of the importance of standing together to protect the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The anthem is a symbol of hope and strength for the Ukrainian people.

Mykola Lysenko was a Ukrainian composer, pianist, conductor and ethnomusicologist of the late Romantic period. In his time he was the central figure of Ukrainian music, with an oeuvre that includes operas, art songs, choral works, orchestral and chamber pieces, and a wide variety of solo piano music. He is often credited with founding a national music tradition during the Ukrainian national revival. Taras Bulba is an opera in four acts with a libretto by Mykhailo Starytsky (the composer's cousin) after the novel Taras Bulba by Nikolai Gogol. The story was about a Cossack who kills his son after he betrayed those fighting for their freedom. This enjoyable and tuneful overture uses several themes from the opera, and is in the vein of other late Romantic Eastern European music. Carol of the Bells is a popular Christmas carol, with music by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 and lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. The song is based on the Ukrainian folk chant Shchedryk.The music is in the public domain, Wilhousky's lyrics are however under copyright protection (owned by Carl Fischer Music). The music is based on a four-note ostinato and is in 3 4 time signature, with the B-flat bell pealing in 6 8 time. The carol is metrically bistable, and a listener can focus on either measure or switch between them. It has been adapted for many genres, including: classical, metal, jazz, country music, rock, trap, and pop. The piece also features in films, television shows, and parodies.
