Composed by Montenegrin folk song. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Multicultural,Patriotic,Praise & Worship,Traditional,World. 27 pages. Keith Terrett #5205655. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746971).

The National Anthem of Montenegro arranged for Symphony Orchestra. There are versions for Brass Quintet & String Orchestra in my on-line stores.

Oj, svijetla majska zoro (Montenegrin Cyrillic: „Ој, Ñвијетла мајÑка зоро, trans. Oh, Bright Dawn of May) is the official National anthem of Montenegro adopted in 2004. Before becoming the anthem, it was a popular folk song of the Montenegrins, with many variations of its text. The oldest one is dated to the 2nd half of the 19th century, known as Oh, Bright Dawn of Heroism, oh!, a popular Montenegrin folk song.

It was played in public for the first time in 1863 in the national theater in Belgrade. It was a component song of the Battle of Grahovo or blood feud in Montenegro (Бој на Грахову или крвна оÑвета у Црној Гори) heroic play in three parts. It is unknown if the text’s authors are also the play’s, namely the following Montenegrin composer/writers: the father of Marko Car Jovan Car and an unknown Obrad Vitković. The play and the Montenegrin folk song was also played/sung in the National Theater again in 1870 and 1876. Its first record in Montenegro itself dates to 1887, when it was included into the regular school program of Montenegrin national songs for pupils in the 3rd grade. It was reconfirmed in the teacher’s plan for Montenegrin schools of 1888, which speculates that it must have been an established folk song for decades by then.

Sekule Drljević, party strongman of a minor political party which was active in the Yugoslavian Kingdom in Montenegro known as the Montenegrin Federalist Party, rewrote the text and published it in 1937 in the book of then’s Croatian writer of Montenegrin origins Savić Marković Å tedimlija known as Crvena Hrvatska (Red Croatia), which confounded the thesis not of a Serb ethnic origin of the Montenegrins, which was the dominant one back then, but rather from the Croats. Its name was Eternal Ours… (VjeÄna naÅ¡a). When Nikola Hercigonja wrote down Oh, Bright Dawn of May shortly after WWII ended after 1945, he erroneously concluded that Drljević was the original wholesale author of this song, which also led to its considerable decline in popularity as a Montenegrin folk song altogether.

The song survived until today under various names as a popular Montenegrin folk song under the name Oh, Bright Dawn of May (Oj svijetla majska zoro). This version of the song has been one of the several versions proposed in 1993 during the first discussion on the official anthem, however, on which there was no consensus because of the disputed melodic value.

Composed by Christopher R. Brown. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 83 pages. Christopher Brown #4756795. Published by Christopher Brown (A0.747214).

About the song: In Psalm 22:22, David writes, I will praise You to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify to the wonderful things You have done. Again, in Psalm 66:16, the psalmist says, Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. Jesus, after healing a man with a demon, commands the man to go home... and report the great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you. The testimony of a life changed by God's love and His great mercy is a powerful tool for both spreading the Good News and resisting temptation. It is good for us to remember and proclaim, both personally and collectively, the great things the Lord has done.

Verse 1

Let me tell you a story of grace,

How the Son of Man died in my place.

Raised to life, all my sin was erased.

Praise the Name of the Lord.

Verse 2

Many times I have asked of the Lord,

On my knees I have prayed and implored.

In the waiting my soul is restored,

Praise the Name of the Lord.

Chorus 1

This is what the Lord has done for me,

Paid my debt and set this captive free.

Mercy flowed down at Calvary,

This is what the Lord has done for me.

Verse 3

When I’m tempted to fear the unknown,

I’m reminded I don’t walk alone.

Christ is with me and He’ll lead me home,

Praise the Name of the Lord.

Chorus 2

This is what the Lord has done for me,

Paid my debt and set this captive free.

Mercy flowed down at Calvary,

This is what the Lord has done for me.

Bridge

Opened these blind eyes to see,

Softened this heart to believe,

Pardoned my sin on a tree,

Now I stand redeemed.

Key Change (up whole tone)

This is what the Lord has done for me,

Paid my debt and set this captive free.

By Murray Gold. By Murray Gold. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV,Thriller. 54 pages. Kevin Riley #941199. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1356528).

Doctor Who follows the adventures of the title character, a rogue Time Lord with somewhat unknown origins who goes by the name the Doctor. The Doctor fled Gallifrey, the planet of the Time Lords, in a stolen TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension(s) in Space), a time machine that travels by materialising into, and dematerialising out of, the time vortex. The TARDIS has a vast interior but appears smaller on the outside, and is equipped with a chameleon circuit intended to make the machine take on the appearance of local objects as a disguise. Due to a malfunction, the Doctor's TARDIS remains fixed as a blue British police box.

The main theme was originally composed by Ron Grainer but this version is based on what Murray Gold wrote.

Composed by Gerd Prengel. Arranged by Adrian Gaigu. 19th Century. 221 pages. Gerd Prengel #900836. Published by Gerd Prengel (A0.1311951).

In 1845 Felix Mendelssohn was working on 2 movements for a 6th symphony in C-Major (shortly before he begann working on his Elijah oratorion). This is an attempt to complete them in his style and for the first time.

I. Allegro ma non troppo

For the first movement a full score of the first 2 minutes (79 measures) exist and additionally sketches for further passages were included and elaborated here:

m. 81 - 93: transition to the 2nd theme

m. 107 - 116: 2nd theme m. 146 - 150 ending of the exposition

m. 152 - 165: beginning of the development

m. 196 - 204: canonic passage 11:57

II. Andante cantabile

The very melodious sketches for the first 2:15 minutes were worked out to a second movement with variations on the main theme and a more passionate middle part.

This publication includes the score and parts and is addressed to any conductors and orchestras willing to play unknown, excellent music by Mendelssohn put in a context true to his idiom. Total duration: 23 min.

Composed by Friedrich von Flotow. Arranged by Edited and typeset by Trevor Denyer. 19th Century,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and Parts. 104 pages. Trevor Denyer #785099. Published by Trevor Denyer (A0.1185409).

This overture to the unknown (these days) romantic opera by Flotow deserves to be performed - being full of melodies and varied textures. It was previously in an innaccurate and hard to read form, which has now been tidied and corrected into a modern typeface.
Print the parts double-sided, as presented, and the page turns will work.

Rübezahl is seen to be the guardian of the Krkonoše Mountains. Physically, his appearance varies; he can take any form he wishes, from an old grandma to a giant crossing his mountains with one step. (Wikipedia).

BRIEF SYNOPSIS: What happens when a struggling, unknown composer attends a friend's New Year's Eve Party and meets a famous composer who offers to show the work to his agent? Never famous enough, Djeno (baritone), is always rejected and the meeting with the famous composer's agent proves the same. Telling them to do whatever with the piece, it is appropriated by the famous composer and is a hit.

Hearing the piece on the radio and sung by his soprano best friend, Djeno can take no more and commits suicide. His friend must deal with the aftermath of her betrayal.

Musical theater/opera hybrid. Perfect opera university or young voices. Poignant commentary on our time and the superficial, over-importance fame plays in it. Beautiful, accessible music.
