Lydian inflections, playful pizzicato, and triangle give a sense of timidity that evolves into wonder. The narrative of the piece, which, while evoked in the title, is not prescribed by the composer, and can be played with by the conductor as they experiment with the fermatas, piu mossos, and ritards.
