This mixed level, 1 piano, 4-hands duet arrangement of the familiar hymn tune FOUNDATION is designed for a beginning student to play the PRIMO while an intermediate player (teacher, parent, friend, sibling) plays the SECONDO. All notes in the PRIMO are played singly with the hands in one position centered around middle C and then played one octave higher. Lyrics are included on the PRIMO for sing-along enjoyment.
The PRIMO plays the melody for the first verse and then for the second verse, the PRIMO and SECONDO alternate playing harmony and melody. Incorporating a subtle syncopation in the SECONDO, this upbeat, straight-forward Gospel hymn is a fun piece to learn and suitable for a first performance in a church setting.
