Written as a duet for a late beginner and an earlier beginner. The melody is mostly octaves. The higher notes can be dropped if needed. The secondo part uses mostly chords and arpeggios to simplify hand movement.
The piece is mostly to teach rhythm and some improvisation, although it would also work well as a performance piece. The familiarity of the song is one of its biggest draws for students who might be a little more hesitant to tackle an unfamiliar song.
