Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.961564 Composed by Olly Wedgwood. Concert,Ragtime,Standards. Score and parts. 5 pages. OllysPianoSheets #5712083. Published by OllysPianoSheets (A0.961564). Cat & Mouse Rag is a playful ragtime duet for primo players at about the Grade 3 standard. With classic ragtime syncopation in the primo part against a 'stride' style in the secondo, this duet is sure to be a popular addition to any recital programme. For the introduction, the primo (perhaps the mouse?) starts things off with a bright opening statement that is answered by the secondo player (the cat?), and then the chase begins!During the opening theme, the primo has an opportunity to tease the cat with a cheeky staccato 'interjection'. Just before this high note is an acciaccatura grace note, which should be played as quickly as possible beforehand. The middle section then modulates to G minor for a variation on the theme, after which a rallentando culminates to a brief pause in the game. There is a break (a caesura) after the pause, so try to leave a good couple of seconds of suspense before launching back into the original theme a tempo.Keep and eye out for staccato and tenuto notes, which will help to communicate the playful feel of the piece. The duet ends with a call-and-response between the primo and secondo, then a crescendo to the ending hits - with a cheeky acciaccatura grace note from the mouse, of course :).

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1485603 Composed by Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf. Arranged by Allan Badley. Classical. Score. 75 pages. Artaria Editions #1062669. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1485603). Unlike the narratives concerning the death of Hercules, and his transformation into a god, and the dispute between Ajax and Ulysses over the weapons of Achilles, the story of Jason's capture of the Golden Fleece provided Dittersdorf with few opportunities for genuine pictorial writing. His explanation for the piano second theme in the first movement seems a little glib – it is, after all, a favourite device of his in non-programmatic works as well but Medea's beautiful soliloquy in the second movement, assigned here to the primo part and in all probability to a wind solo in the original, is as effective as anything in the extant orchestral scores of the Ovid symphonies. His choice of a Ciaconna for the Finale is not only highly appropriate given the heroic theme of the work, but also neatly solves the problem of how to end the symphony unconventionally in the absence of a transformation scene of the kind found in the other symphonies. Yet again, one marvels at Dittersdorf 's powerful creative imagination. The parts are marked carefully although Dittersdorf is not over-detailed in his instructions to the performers. The occasional copying errors provide insufficient evidence to determine whether the parts were copied from a piano score or prepared directly from the composer's full orchestral score. Little editorial work has been necessary to prepare this edition. The style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardised throughout and, where missing from the source, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets where appropriate. Like most eighteenth-century sources, the manuscript is at times inconsistent in its notation of appoggiature ; these too have been standardised to minimise confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets.  Allan Badley.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1485605 Composed by Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf. Arranged by Allan Badley. Classical. Score. 67 pages. Artaria Editions #1062670. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1485605). The parts are marked carefully although Dittersdorf is not over-detailed in his instructions to the performers. One major lacuna exists in the score: the primo part is missing from bar 42 to 129 in the Finale, in narrative terms, from the rage which culminates in Ajax stabbing himself with Achilles' sword to the miraculous appearance of the purple flowers. The editor has completed this section, basing it in part on earlier material and also on the clues provided in the secondo part. Otherwise, the edition presents few problems: the style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardised throughout and, where missing from the source, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets where appropriate. Like most eighteenth-century sources, the manuscript is at times inconsistent in its notation of appoggiature; these too have been standardised to minimise confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets. Allan Badley.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Digital Download SKU: A0.507262 Composed by Heather Cattanach. 20th Century,Children,Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 14 pages. Published by Heather Cattanach (A0.507262). Caelum, the Sculptor, an Intermediate Piano Duet uses weights on the black keys to create sympathetic vibrations of the strings. As a sculptor uses the chisel to chip away the stone or wood from a block thus changing the shape of the material, so the players in removing and replacing the blocks from the keys alter the sound of the music. As indicated, sometimes listen (for a bar) to the sympathetic vibrations. Sometimes remove weights to hear the change in sound. Both duet players need to carefully lift and replace the blocks silently. From “88 Constellations†a collection by Heather Cattanach featuring one piece of piano music for each of the 88 constellations (to match the number of keys on a standard piano). Performance Time 5 minutes. 13 pages. (General Instructional, Modern, Repertoire, Recital, 21st Century, 1 Piano 4 Hands).

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Digital Download SKU: A0.507278 Composed by Heather Cattanach. 20th Century,Children,Contemporary,Instructional,Jazz. Score. 6 pages. Published by Heather Cattanach (A0.507278). Chamaeleon belongs to the Petrus Plancius constellations named for exotic animals. This colour-changing lizard lounges languidly in the sun until… snap! The long tongue whips out and captures the fly. On the star chart for the southern hemisphere Chamaeleon is sometimes illustrated with his tongue flicking out at Musca, the fly. In this Early Intermediate Piano Duet, Secondo plays a Latin style tumbao with the left hand and a montuno with the right hand. Primo’s rhythm is a bit tricky, but it often matches Secondo’s left hand. Perfect for Student and Teacher, siblings, or friends to play together. Performance Time 2 minutes. 5 pages. From “88 Constellations†a collection by Heather Cattanach featuring one piece of piano music for each of the 88 constellations (to match the number of keys on a standard piano). (General Instructional, 20th Century, Modern, Repertoire, Recital, Latin, 1 Piano 4 Hands).

Score. 13 pages. Dimitris Anousis #5362405. Published by Dimitris Anousis (A0.784577). Smooth Operator - Words & Music by Helen Adu (Sade) & Ray St. John. Arranged for piano 4 hands by Dimitris Anousis. This is the well known, all time standard composition, in an amazing professional made arrangement for piano 4 hands (2 pianists on 1 piano ...) by the accomplished pianist, composer and arranger Dimitris Anousis. This is the real deal! With all the parts of the original song (intro, verse, refrain, solos). Made from a pianist for pianists, written in a understandable way to be pianistic and to have an orchestral feeling while playing, not for the piece to sounds poor. Ideal for all kinds of events and concerts. Appropriate for advanced students. This is an all time standard piece which I love very much! I hope you'll enjoy it!
