The Fragrance of Purple Rosy is inspired by the Sonnett 123 composed by Liszt. I practiced the sonnet 123 a few years ago and the beauty of the music fascinated me, which brings up the colors in the ways of delicate, intimate, and the subtle change of shades. The music always reflects in colors in my brain. The Sonnet 123 rounds up in purple rosy. I decided to write a duet sharing the same color for praising sonnet 123. The music is expressed in my own way. Also, I wanted to start the music in a way of most straight-forward, therefore the first subject entered as a 4-note broken chord. The short introduction is written in triplets for the purpose of giving a salute to Liszt, which shares the same rhythmic pattern of the introduction of Sonnet 123.

One Handed Trios? This set is a collection of three 3-line pieces, all of them relatively short, designed for use in piano lessons or class piano. They have sprung out of my own teaching, where I wanted some pieces that emphasized rhythm, would be fun to play, and would also be very flexible. Each piece can be played by one, two, or three players. With three players each would play one line. With two players one will play a single line, the 2nd will play the other two lines. A single player would either need to be very advanced, or play along with a recording of themself playing some of the parts. The sample MP3 has the full performance of all three pieces in the set.

This delightful arrangement of A Holly Jolly Christmas will impress your audience as they watch two pianists at completely different levels perform together! This multi-level piece was written for two cousins who wanted to perform together.

The primo part is written for your late-elementary/early-intermediate student. It features a right-hand melody and left-hand accompaniment made up of 2-note chords, parallel harmonies, and parallel 6ths. The secondo part is for your intermediate/late-intermediate student. It features several accompaniment patterns made up of chords, triplets, and stride/jump bass. The secondo part takes over the melody in the middle section and both players share the melody on the second half of the piece. The trick ending includes suggestions for optional theatrics as the secondo player reaches completely in front of the primo player to find their notes at the top of the keyboard.

This piece is the perfect, non-equal duet for two siblings, two friends, parent and child, or teacher and student! The music includes a score and 2 individual parts so you can choose how to display the music on the piano rack once students are ready to rehearse together.

The King Cotton March was composed in 1895 by John Philip Sousa for military band, and was written for the Cotton States and International Exposition. I've always enjoyed this particular march and found a couple different piano solo versions, but neither of them really packed the punch I was looking for. I wrote this arrangement for piano duet and then recorded both parts myself (as you can see in the video) and wanted to make it available for anyone else looking to play this great piece with a friend. Approximately an intermediate/advanced difficulty level.
