Neefe - with these three names, we are right in the middle of Viennese Classicism. The authentic arrangements characteristic of the time deal with the themes 'Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja', 'Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen', 'Soll ich dich Teurer nicht mehr sehen?', 'Das klinget so herrlich', 'Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen', 'Klinget, Glöckchen, klinget'. Neefe became court organist of the Archbishop of Cologne in 1782. Assigned to him as a 'vicar' was the young Beethoven whom Neefe taught piano playing and composition until the beginning of 1784. Neefe recognized the extraordinary talent of Beethoven and was the first to compare him to Mozart.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.820027 Composed by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Arranged by Kathy Hirche. Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 10 pages. Kathy Hirche #5024171. Published by Kathy Hirche (A0.820027). The Young Prince and The Young Princess is from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Symphonic Suite entitled Scheherazade. This arrangement is for Late Intermediate Level Piano/Keyboard Duet. The written range is kept mostly within the staff and the appropriate performance range of pitches on the keyboard is achieved by octave displacement, i.e. the Primo part is performed an octave higher than written and the Secondo an octave lower. As the performance range extends beyond that of a 61-note keyboard, an acoustic piano or 88-note keyboard is required if both players are to perform on the same instrument. Another performance option is to use two 61-note keyboards and use the transpose function to displace the parts by an octave (up for Primo, down for Secondo). Both the score and separate parts are provided.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.738216 Composed by Fiona Hickie. Classical,Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 7 pages. Fiona Alice Hickie #6079431. Published by Fiona Alice Hickie (A0.738216). The possum is an Australian native animal. It is a nocturnal animal that has adapted well to city life, being quite happy living in the roofs of houses. This piece represents the possum creeping about at night time looking for food. It is inspired by an experience I had with a baby possum one night, when I woke up to the strings on my grand piano being played. The young possum had come down my chimney and was looking for an escape from the rain. It was also fairly unhappy with being placed outside again.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.917496 Composed by Traditional English Melody. Arranged by D. E. Mathers. Christmas,Concert,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 9 pages. D. Eugene Mathers #4835819. Published by D. Eugene Mathers (A0.917496). This traditional melody has been arranged to be playable by two pianists at differing early stages of development: the primo calls for the beginner level (level I), whereas the secondo places more advanced technical demands (ranging from levels II-III). Stylistically, the arrangement evokes both the early modernism of Erik Satie (specifically the harmonies, meter, and texture of his famous Gymnopedies) and, in the refrain (two statements), straightforward harmonies and counterpoint more directly suggestive of traditional common practice.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1114900 By John Denver. By Traditional English Carol. Arranged by Wendy Hellmann. Children,Christmas,Holiday,Traditional. Score. 7 pages. Gwendolyn Hellmann #716741. Published by Gwendolyn Hellmann (A0.1114900). This beloved holiday classic is arranged with the early beginner in mind and is perfectly suitable for students nearing the end of the Bastien Primer B or Alfred Primer C method series. Piano Primo is written in Middle C Position, uses eighth notes, and is played one octave higher than written throughout the piece. There are also several spots where the left hand crosses over the right hand to reach a note that is outside of Middle C Position. Notes are also slightly enlarged for easier reading. Piano Secondo is ideal for a teacher or intermediate student who is comfortable with reading both hands in bass clef. The harmony changes ever so slightly with each iteration. Only 5 days are written here, but it would be easy to add repeated bars to get through all 12 days. Either way, this makes for a great piece for a young student at a winter recital! The PDF download contains both a full score and a set of individual parts - Piano Primo and Piano Secondo. Both parts are formatted to avoid any page turns.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976038 Composed by Lior Navok. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 27 pages. Lior Navok Music #4725307. Published by Lior Navok Music (A0.976038). AT THE EDGE OF A SPIRAL - for Piano Four-Hands (2004) DURATION: 10 Minutes PROGRAM NOTES: The composer writes about his work: At the Edge of a Spiral for one piano, four hands is a short journey of a built intensity. It is based on few fragments, motives that are lit in different light each time. The piece starts slow, but increases its intensity and speed as it progresses, utilizing the same motives. While composing the piece, I heard about a young man that threw himself to the river. I tried to imagine that went in his mind and what brought to this dead-end. And again the idea of a built intensity, obsessive and uncompromising came to my mind. At the very end of the piece, there is a sudden drop of intensity followed by a music box passage, as if describing what is going on in the person's mind right after the jump, right after reaching the edge of his life's spiral. At the Edge of a Spiral was written and dedicated for the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo - Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg. It was funded by the generous support of Miriam and Eliezer Benbassat. 1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1127872 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Score. 12 pages. Philip Le Bas #728481. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1127872). Incidental music composed for piano duet (4-hands) in four parts by Philip Le Bas to accompany the Japanese folk tale (ghost story) Yuki-Onna (Snow Woman). This piano duet developed out of a cross-cultural project initiated at Morley College, London, in early 2019, aiming to create a melodrama for piano solo and spoken voice to be performed in northern Japan later in the year by young students of the piano. It is based on the ghost-story above, which is widely known in Japan. The tale was transcribed and published by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo) in 1904 as part of his book “Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Thingsâ€, a collection that has been highly influential in expressing popular Japanese culture over the past century. Synopsis of the tale of Yuki-Onna: Two wood-cutters, Mosaku and his apprentice Minokichi, encounter a terrible snow-storm and take shelter in an empty hut by a river. The storm gets worse and worse, but they both finally fall asleep. When Minokichi wakes, he sees a woman all in white bending over Mosaku breathing bright white smoke onto his face. She then approaches Minokichi. She is very beautiful, but her eyes make him afraid. After a while she says, “I intended to do the same to you as I did to the old man, but I feel pity for you because you are a pretty young man. If you ever tell anybody what you have seen, however, I will kill you too.†And she vanishes into the snow storm. It is then that Minokichi discovers Mosaku dead on the floor of the hut. Years later Minokichi meets a beautiful girl, who calls herself O-Yuki. He falls in love with her and they live together in his house, along with his mother, who fortunately takes a liking to her new “honourable daughter-in-law.†Over the years O-Yuki gives birth to ten children and the villagers all agree that she is a wonderful person. But she is somehow different from them, as she continues to look young and fresh, despite the passing years. Minokichi often thinks of telling O-Yuki about the events of years ago, and eventually, as he is gazing at her beauty one night, he can resist it no more. He begins to tell her about the snow storm and the terrifying snow-woman. To his horror O-Yuki becomes more and more angry, and she finally says: “It was me, it was me,… and I said I would kill you if you ever told anyone! But for these children asleep here, I would do so this very moment! You had better take very good care of them; for if ever they have reason to complain of you, I will treat you as you deserve!†As she screams at him her voice becomes thin, like the crying of the wind, and she melts into a bright white mist spiraling into the roof-beams. At that moment it starts to snow, but O-Yuki is never seen again.
