Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Bass Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1467027 Composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Christian,Classical,Religious. 15 pages. John Ivor Holland #1045591. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1467027). 'Ave Maria' is the sixth movement taken from the All-Night Vigil, an a cappella choral composition by Sergei Rachmaninoff, his Op. 37, premiered on 23 March 1915 in Moscow. The piece consists of settings of texts taken from the Russian Orthodox ceremony. Along with 'The Bells', it was one of Rachmaninoff's favourite compositions. This arrangement for saxophone choir brings all the sonority of the vespers and would make a wonderful contrasting moment in any concert, particularly if performed in a church, or even a cathedral.

Classical,Romantic Period,Sacred. 7 pages. MacNary Music LLC #342091. Published by MacNary Music LLC (A0.733929). Bogoroditsye Dyevo is the sixth of the 15 Choral gems in Rachmaninoff's All Night Vigil, composed in 1915. Bogoroditsye Dyevo can be translated as Rejoice, virgin mother of God. It contains much of the Hail Mary prayer. Here it is scored for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophone. The piece is very calm and sustained, with a lovely feature of the Alto and Tenor Saxophone in the middle of the piece.

Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Bass Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1290769 Composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Stuart Campbell. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Chamber,Christian,Sacred. 15 pages. John Ivor Holland #881466. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1290769). The All-Night Vigil (often mis-translated as simply 'Vespers') is an a cappella choral composition by Sergei Rachmaninov, his Op. 37, premiered on 23 March 1915 in Moscow. The piece consists of settings of texts taken from the Russian Orthodox All-night vigil ceremony. Along with 'The Bells', it was one of Rachmaninov's two favorite compositions and the composer requested that its fifth movement be sung at his funeral. The sixth movement is 'Ave Maria' which is considered to be the most beautiful part of the entire piece and performed independently in many settings, such as this saxophone choir arrangement, adapted from the edition prepared by Stuart Campbell.
