However, parts are doubled at the octave where necessary for players with more beginning/limited ranges. The percussion section includes quad toms, timpani, snare, and bass drum. The flute part could be doubled by xylophone and/or other pitch percussion in octaves. The lower register long tones lend itself to a warm up to begin the show and the rhythmic cadence for this piece makes it a good down field number to place the marching band in a presentation formation for additional selections.
