In My Life is a song by The Beatles from their album Rubber Soul. Composed primarily by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCartney. George Martin plays the baroque-style piano in the song. The song inspired more pop music producers to use harpsichord in their arrangements. Rolling Stone magazine ranked In My Life at number 23 on Rolling Stone Magazine's List of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, as well as fifth on its list of The 100 Greatest Beatles Songs. The song ranked second on the CBC's 50 Tracks. Mojo magazine named it the greatest song of all time in 2000. By The Beatles. By John Lennon, John Winston Lennon, Paul James Mccartney, and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Individual part. 3 pages. David McKeown #5319395. Published by David McKeown (A0.588375).

When I’m Sixty-Four first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Despite the song’s appearance relatively late in the Beatles’ discography, it was one of the first songs that Paul McCartney wrote, at the age of 16. When the song was finally recorded in 1966, Paul McCartney felt it was too slow and turgid. George Martin simply solved the problem by speeding up the tape and raising the pitch by one semitone.

This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged in a suitable key and range for solo Flute.  Piano/Guitar chords are also included above the stave.

Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.

Theme from New York, New York (or New York, New York) is the theme song for the Martin Scorsese film New York, New York (1977), composed by John Kander, with lyrics by Fred Ebb. It remains one of the best-known songs about New York City. In 2004, it finished 31st in the AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs poll of top American film songs. In 1979, Theme from New York, New York was recorded by Frank Sinatra for his album Trilogy: Past Present Future (1980), and has become closely associated with it as one of his signature songs. Don Costa received a Grammy nomination for energetic orchestration. Sinatra occasionally performed the song live with Minnelli as a duet. Sinatra recorded for the second time for his 1993 album Duets, with Tony Bennett. Sinatra's recording peaked at #32 in June 1980, becoming his final Top 40 hit. It was also an Adult Contemporary hit, reaching #10 in the US[2] and #2 in Canada. [3] The song made a small showing in the UK (#59); however, it reappeared several years later and reached No. 4 in 1986. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male and Sinatra made two more studio recordings of the song in 1981 (for their NBC TV special The Man and His Music) and 1993 (for Capitol Records). From the latter, an electronic duet with Tony Bennett was produced for Sinatra's Duets album.

By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Individual part. 3 pages. David McKeown #5325407. Published by David McKeown (A0.588724).

In My Life by the Beatles, was released on the 1965 album, Rubber Soul. It was chiefly written and sung by John Lennon, who claimed it was his first serious attempt at personal song-writing. The song features a baroque style piano solo by George Martin. The tempo was too fast for him to perform it, so he played it at half tempo and layer doubled the tape speed. The resulting tinny sound gave rise to a host of copycat harpsichord solos on contemporary pop songs.

This version of In My Life is arranged in a suitable key and range for solo Flute. Piano/Guitar chords are included above the stave.

Musicians at an early intermediate level will find In My Life ideal for formal and informal concert performance. Most of the solo is straightforward, although the transcribed piano solo is at a higher level of difficulty; these eight bars can be skipped without affecting the overall structure of the song. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with syncopated rhythms.
