Flute Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1196871 Composed by Chris Salerno. 20th Century,Baroque,Christian,Religious,Renaissance. Individual part. 4 pages. Chris Salerno Music #796031. Published by Chris Salerno Music (A0.1196871). Program NotesConsider The Lillies is inspired by Jesus’ sermon on the mount, specifically, His explanation of the futility of worrying. He uses two illustrations from nature, birds and flowers, as examples of living in quiet contentment. In each case, Jesus admonishes us to take a moment to either look at or consider. Both actions require us to engage in contemplation. The piece is cast loosely in the Loure dance form, with long pauses interrupting each phrase portion. The piece is an illustration of taking time to consider something in a deep and meaningful way. A technically simple tune embodies the quiet life of contented trust in God and contemplation. Consider The Lillies mimics the act of hearing an idea, then pausing to consider it. Both performer and audience are given time to contemplate the musical phrase portions during the moment of silence that follows each musical idea.Performance NotesWhen performing Consider The Lillies, approach each phrase portion as a melody in and of itself. The main tempo marking at the beginning, Adagio Rubato, allows the performer to  naturally act out the process of hearing an idea, then pausing for contemplation. Executing a strict tempo is not necessary. However, each phrase should be performed without drastic tempo changes.

Flute Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024219 Composed by Blake Mathieson. Contemporary,World. Individual part. 2 pages. Blake Mathieson #2884425. Published by Blake Mathieson (A0.1024219). 2 pages. Size A4.Kyrgyz Rhythms is a folk song that uses a variety of rhythms and pitches, and can provide a challenge for nearly every instrument. This part is for flute, preferably in a concert band, and for this song, the flute plays an incredibly important role. The flute, along with the piccolo part pitched an octave above, play the melody for most of the song, and if they aren't, they are playing an important role in supporting the melody, so make sure that the flute sings out, do not let it be reserved. Also, be aware of the quite high notes scattered throughout the piece, you will need to know how to play a high C in order to play. The part contains a wide variety of musical elements, pitch, rhythm, tempo, key etc. The piece is divided into different sections by two or three bar rests, that can prepare the performer for the next section. A flute player should make sure that they keep the wide dynamic range required for the song, but at the same time, to try and not block out the other instruments, especially the piccolos. If played in a non-concert band setting, you may simply ignore the three bar rests. They aren't very useful unless playing in a concert band.
