This example of FAST Blues in Bb was designed to support students with Limited Range yet who still have the chops to perform challenging technical melodic lines. Students are encouraged to study this example and find a little section they can use as “topic sentences� to create their own solo. The idea is to help spark creative processing and understanding of jazz phrasing & articulation. The range is set so that the entire band can rehearse sections of these solos together. Enjoy! 

These solos were designed to support middle and high school jazz band students with the hope that they'll feel more comfortable learning how to improvise over the Concert Bb Blues. Sheet Music is available for the following instruments:
