Trumpet Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.969866 Composed by Amy Dunker. Concert,Contemporary. Individual part. 13 pages. Amy Dunker #6083273. Published by Amy Dunker (A0.969866). Three Images from the Hubble Telescope consists of three musical meditations on pictures taken through the telescope. The work can be performed with or without projected images. I. NGC 4907 The barred spiral galaxy known as NGC 4907 shows its starry face from 270 million light-years away to anyone who can see it from the Northern Hemisphere. II. Interstellar Comet Borisov On Aug. 30, 2019, when amateur astronomer Gennady Borisov gazed upward with his homemade telescope, he spotted an object moving in an unusual direction. Now called 2I/Borisov, this runaway point of light turned out to be the first confirmed comet to enter our solar system from some unknown place beyond our Sun’s influence. III.  Rose Galaxies The image shows a large spiral galaxy apparently attached to another one by a swirl of stars – a rose-like effect caused by the gravitational pull of the galaxy below it. The sprinkling of blue jewel-like points across the top of the larger galaxy is the combined light from clusters of intensely bright and hot young blue stars. These massive stars glow fiercely in ultraviolet light.Duration:  11:30

B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549786 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3536971. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549786). Duration: ca 1:00 Score: 5 pages, Solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Short but fascinating Chinese Dance from the Nutcracker Suite. Program this for a recital encore or Christmas pageant. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don’t normally listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most noteworthy if not an unforgettable impact. Education First of all, He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society. Even more, He also attended the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. He also consequently studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. It seems like Rubenstein came under criticism from a group of Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five certainly rejected Western musical influences. They rather sought to use elements from Russian music. They furthermore wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Western Techniques More than other Russian composers, Tchaikovsky studied modern Western music. He certainly develops his music like the European masters. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a The Nutcracker Suite is a ballet that was performed for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg. To begin with, the original ballet failed to attract a positive reception. However, the ballet suite became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet suite became even more famous in the 1960s. It is now performed all over the world, particularly during the Christmas season.

Trumpet Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972644 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by James Siddons. Concert,Folk,Holiday,Patriotic,Ragtime. Individual part. 3 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #3124103. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972644). Although published as a piano solo (1902), A Breeze from Alabama is subtitled March and Two Step and has a dedication on the cover to P. G. Lowery (Perry George Lowery, 1871-1942), World's Challenging Colored Cornetist and Band Master. Thus, A Breeze from Alabama may well have been conceived as a march for military band but published only as a piano solo. No band arrangement by Joplin is known to exist, but Joplin could have done this, as he himself was a cornetist as well as pianist, and had played cornet in bands like Lowery's many times.         Drawing on this information, the present arrangement by James Siddons (2017) is based on the following assumptions: 1. A Breeze from Alabama originated as a march (in march-trio form) for military band. 2. The 1902 publication for piano solo by Scott Joplin is a piano reduction of that band work. The melodic lines intended for cornet solo are generally discernible in the piano reduction. 3. A setting for piano duet (or ensemble) keeps this work in the tradition of ragtime piano while also emulating the fulsome tone colors of brass instruments to a degree that a solo piano cannot do. Thus this arrangement is not a solo-and-accompaniment setting, but a setting for large ensemble with soloist. It is collaborative music, akin to a concerto. This is the part for cornet in Bb (or trumpet). A performance also requires the piano duet score (also playable as a piano ensemble), and the full score if a conductor participates. The audio track posted here has the piano music only, and is for rehearsal by the cornet soloist. A cadenza for the cornet, composed by James Siddons, begins at measure 116 in the score and part, and at 2 mins, 44 secs in the audio recording. In the audio track, five seconds of silence begin at 2 mins, 44 secs. To practice the cadenza, press the pause button on your media player. To rehearse without playing the cadenza, simply wait out the brief silence. At 2 mins, 49 secs, the piano music resumes at measure 120 of the score or cornet part.

Theme from New York, New York (or New York, New York) is the theme song for the Martin Scorsese film New York, New York (1977), composed by John Kander, with lyrics by Fred Ebb. It remains one of the best-known songs about New York City. In 2004, it finished 31st in the AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs poll of top American film songs. In 1979, Theme from New York, New York was recorded by Frank Sinatra for his album Trilogy: Past Present Future (1980), and has become closely associated with it as one of his signature songs. Don Costa received a Grammy nomination for energetic orchestration. Sinatra occasionally performed the song live with Minnelli as a duet. Sinatra recorded for the second time for his 1993 album Duets, with Tony Bennett. Sinatra's recording peaked at #32 in June 1980, becoming his final Top 40 hit. It was also an Adult Contemporary hit, reaching #10 in the US[2] and #2 in Canada. [3] The song made a small showing in the UK (#59); however, it reappeared several years later and reached No. 4 in 1986. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male and Sinatra made two more studio recordings of the song in 1981 (for their NBC TV special The Man and His Music) and 1993 (for Capitol Records). From the latter, an electronic duet with Tony Bennett was produced for Sinatra's Duets album.
