B-Flat Trumpet Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.894418

Composed by George M Cohan. Arranged by Zack Richards. Contemporary,Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Individual part. 5 pages. Zack Richards #6426681. Published by Zack Richards (A0.894418).

This march written by George M. Cohan for his musical, George Washington, Jr., became an instant favorite across the nation. It was inspired by a conversation Cohan had with a Civil War veteran who fought at Gettysburg. This arrangement stays true to the original march style, adding some fanfare and pomp throughout. The less-commonly heard verse precedes the final triumphant statement of the chorus which leads to an exciting and bombastic ending. Like Cohan's original, this will certainly get the audience's toes tapping along!

SKU: A0.951606

Composed by George M. Cohan. Arranged by Travis Hayman. Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Individual part. 7 pages. Travis Hayman #6413269. Published by Travis Hayman (A0.951606).

The Yankee Doodle Boy, also well known as (I'm a) Yankee Doodle Dandy is a patriotic song from the Broadway musical Little Johnny Jones written by George M. Cohan. The play opened at the Liberty Theater on November 7, 1904. The play concerns the trials and tribulations of a fictional American jockey, Johnny Jones (based on the real life jockey Tod Sloan), who rides a horse named Yankee Doodle in the English Derby. Cohan incorporates snippets of several popular traditional American songs into his lyrics of this song, as he often did with his songs. The song was performed by James Cagney in the 1942 film Yankee Doodle Dandy, in which he played Cohan.
