Brass Ensemble - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1015626 Composed by David Healy-Richards. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 42 pages. David Healy-Richards #4805037. Published by David Healy-Richards (A0.1015626). Moon Chasers is my third musical work and is dedicated to my Girlfriend who I met in the International Brass Band Summer School in Swansea in 2016. This piece of music is aimed at capturing the feeling of a young couple savouring the moment as they experience it. Not worrying about the future or the past just the here and now. I tried to capture this feeling with suspensions and utilising the different sections of the band. The intro represents the end of a manic day, driving home until A. Where the duet kicks in A melody and a counter-melody representing two young lovers. It starts as a minimalist quartet before the scoring becomes a lot thicker allowing more colours to come out. We hear echoes of the next section which starts at (D) with a rhythm that feels like its slightly behind the beat. It's a simple harmonic line but as it feels behind the beat this achieves a kind of euphoric feel to the music. This is then decorated by the twinkling stars that we here popping up every now and again which are represented by the Glockenspiel.

Brass Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889001 Composed by Quinn McMath. Contemporary. Score and parts. 28 pages. Quinn McMath #6134955. Published by Quinn McMath (A0.889001). A Bridge Between an Ocean for Tuba Quartet is an arrangement of a choral piece by Quinn McMath under the same name. The piece deals with the elusive and sometimes damaging transition away from childhood. The beginning represents the realization of the move away from youth, and the piece journeys through the bittersweet acceptance of this passing of time. This piece should be driven with passion and emotion as this feeling is something most of the audience will relate to. This piece is suitable for ensembles of a collegiate level and up.

Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808675 Composed by Alexander Borodin (1833–1887). Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Broadway,Holiday,Musical/Show,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and parts. 19 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #3130463. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808675).      The defeat of Igor Svyatoslavich, a Rus’ prince, in his 1185 campaign against invading Cuman (Polovtsy) tribes was immortalized in the Russian epic, The Lay of Igor’s Campaign. Seven centuries later, Alexander Borodin started work on an opera based on that old tale. Borodin died before finishing, but Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Glazunov completed Prince Igor, and it was performed for the first time in 1890. Sixty-three years later the Broadway production Kismet opened featuring songs adapted by Robert Wright and George Forrest from the music of Borodin. Arguably, the most popular of the show’s songs was Stranger in Paradise, which was based on the Gliding Dance of the Maidens from the Polovtsian Dances of Prince Igor.      This beautiful brass quintet arrangement of Gliding Dance of the Maidens was adapted from the orchestra score. The key is A major, time signature is 4/4 and tempo marking is Andantino at the opening, slowing to a suggested quarter note = 63 at measure 15. Trumpets, Horn in F and Trombone all play a few grace notes. Highest notes for Trumpets are their G-sharp just above the staff; for Trombone, E above the staff. While not particularly challenging technically, the key to playing this piece is interpretation and feeling.     This arrangement was completed in 2017, and performance time runs about 2 minutes, 38 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge; contact him directly at lessmith61@bellsouth.net. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

Brass Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.837120 Arranged by R.R.Cardo. Renaissance. Score and parts. 28 pages. SBQUSA. Publications #10099. Published by SBQUSA. Publications (A0.837120). This is a collection of renaissance music of romance. Great for Renaissance Fairs. A Hawkes-up for a Hunts-up! A metaphor for pursuing relationships, in the first half, hawks are scouting, and in the second half, the hunters pursue their prey on horseback. Scarborough Faire - parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. The spice of life. Everything reminds the singer of their true love. Are they or are they not? The song's creator wrote this for two people who have feelings for each other, walking through the faire, glancing at each other at every turn, with their secret love in their hearts. I will see you again at the faire.. The Orange Rogue- sometimes attributed to William of Orange; with an arranged marriage, Mary thought him to be boring and unattractive. Set up to take charge of a war that could not be won, William turned things around and won despite the odds. Even more impressive, he turned Mary's heart as well as she fell in love with him.

Brass Ensemble - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM213 Composed by Keiron Anderson. Score and parts. 46 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM213. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM213). ISBN 9790570481125.Brass Ensemble - Trumpet in Eb or D, 2 Bb Trumpets, Flugelhorn, Horn in F, 3 Trombones, Bass Trombone, Tuba. A large scale ensemble in a mature and confidant style. The opening section is slow, with gentle syncopation and sophisticated harmonies including very controlled dissonances to heighten the emotion and tension of the music. This is then followed by a riotous fast section with the modal feeling of a Scottish reel, with everyone getting a piece of the action. Frequent modulations and lively syncopations drive this music forward - you can almost hear the dancers stamp the floor! At the end of this section the syncopations wind down and the music returns to the material from the start of the piece, before winding down and relaxing even further to an almost mournful conclusion. The slower sections will require sensitive and musical playing and direction, whilst the fast section requires nimble fingers and tongues to get the best from the music. Suitable for players of Grade 6 upwards.
