A Baroque Polonaise from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Notebook for Anna Magdalena, now arranged for brass trio. The composer of Polonaise in G minor is thought to be one of J.S. Bach’s children, C.P.E. Bach, an outstanding composer in his own right. Originally for keyboard, Polonaise in G minor has been arranged here for brass trio. Parts for a variety of combinations are included. Part I is for Bb trumpet. Part II may be played by F horn or Bb trumpet, and Part III may be played by tuba or trombone or euphonium or baritone (bass clef and treble clef parts are included). Difficulty level is approximately grade 4 (medium-advanced).

Versatile Brass Solo Collection with Brass Band

All the Things You Are is a song composed by Jerome Kern with lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II.

The song was written for the musical Very Warm for May (1939) and was introduced by Hiram Sherman, Frances Mercer, Hollace Shaw, and Ralph Stuart. It also appeared in the film Broadway Rhythm (1944).

This version which I have arranged as a Cornet or Soprano Cornet solo is based on the 1939 Artie Shaw recording where the vocals were provided by Helen Forrest.

A great swinging chart from one of the great composers of the swing era.

All in Love Is Fair is taken from Stevie Wonder's sixteenth studio album, Innervisions, released on August 3, 1973. All Music's Matthew Greenwald found All in Love Is Fair to be among Wonder's finest ballad statements, which contained one of the most graceful and memorable hooks from the era

This arrangement is based on the Barbara Streisand version of the song which was recorded in 1974 and appeared on her multi-award-winning album 'The Way We Were', 

There are versions of this arrangement available as a Female Vocal and as a 10 piece Vocal and instrumental.

The Trombone solo part is challenging but should be in the compass and range of the competent player.

I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter is a 1935 popular song with music by Fred E. Ahlert and lyrics by Joe Young. It has been recorded many times, including several recordings by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and a host of other big American stars. It has become a standard of the Great American Songbook. It was popularized by Fats Waller, who recorded it in 1935 at the height of his fame

It is one of several songs from the Harlem Renaissance featured in the Broadway musical Ain't Misbehavin'.

American Public Media's business-news program, Marketplace, uses a portion of Fats Waller's version to open its weekly letters-from-listeners segment.

This arrangement can be for male vocals or played as a trombone solo in a swing style.

James Bond for Brass Band Collection

A few years ago I decided to base my summer programme around a central theme of the James Bond movies. Audiences loved the concept and the pieces because they knew the tunes and could sing along. We also had a wonderfully versatile vocalist. This arrangement is one of the ones I did for her.

There is such a rich collection of theme songs available which people know and love. This particular arrangement is with a vocal Solo and is not simple. But is very playable by any competent brass band. There is nothing overly clever or difficult technically but rhythmically it needs to be precise. It will be enjoyable and playable by all levels of brass band. .
