O Come, O Come, Emmanuel is an Advent hymn translated from the original Latin Veni, Veni, Emmanuel first published in the 12th Century. The words and the music developed in separate paths and were linked together in a 1851 publication by Thomas Helmore.

Jay Hilfiger's beautiful arrangement for 10-part Brass Ensemble and Percussion (Cymbals & Side Drum) is about 3 minutes in length and appropriate for intermediate to moderately advanced performers.

These arrangements of favorite Christmas carols are sure to brighten up your next Christmas event. The publication consists of full scores for each hymn plus separate instrumental parts and an optional simplified keyboard part. All the arrangements are in four parts, reflecting the traditional SATB voicing. The parts include 1st trumpet in B flat; 2nd trumpet in B flat; horn in F; horn in E flat; trombone and optional tuba; optional bass in B flat and bass in E flat. There are also two optional baritone parts in B flat (TC) and C (BC) in case you need them. They are the same as the tenor part. In some carols, you might prefer to assign any baritones to doubling the bass or doubling the melody an octave lower. The baritone part in C is also playable by trombone. The trombone and tuba parts appear on a single staff. Of course, you can use any number of instruments to a particular part. The optional keyboard part has been simplified and whenever possible limited to single notes in the left hand part and no more than two-note chords in the right. Using the keyboard part, you can use the arrangements as solos, duets or trios. The scores and all the parts are contained in a single 129-page PDF file.

Here’s a brand new collection of best-loved Christmas hymns and carols arranged for brass, to brighten up your next Christmas event. They are presented in a set of two books and include full four-part instrumental scores plus parts for 1st B flat trumpet, 2nd B flat trumpet, horn in F (with a separate optional part for horn in E flat), trombone and/or tuba. The tuba part is also optional because it either doubles the trombone part or plays an octave below. Both trombone and tuba parts appear on a single staff in the bass clef at concert pitch. The arrangements can be used with brass quartet, brass quintet or brass ensemble. There’s also an optional but useful simplified keyboard part intended for less experienced keyboard players. The left hand plays only the bass part most of the time, with the right hand part kept as simple as possible. It could be used as the basis of an accompaniment which means that you can use the arrangements as solos, duets or trios.

The arrangements are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used as interludes in a concert or service, or they could be used to accompany solo, choral or congregational singing. The arrangements been written in brass-friendly keys as often as possible. While the hymns mostly use the traditional harmonies, the carols have been treated more freely.

The First 5 series is suitable for elementary level performers of all ages. It provides seven pieces which are musically satisfying and fun to play without demanding more than basic technical ability and theoretical knowledge and the first five notes learned on the instrument. This arrangement follows the style of Post Modern Jukebox and the incomparable Haley Reinhart performing their unique version of the Radiohead hit.  It's written as a stand alone brass quintet, but there is an optional drum set part as well.  Substitute baritone b.c. and t.c. parts are included to cover for French horn and trombone when necessary.  There are also optional sections for flugelhorn and muted trumpet to add a little more flavor to the piece.

Written in a sultry 12/8 feel and at 4:25 in length, it will make a great showpiece for your next performance!
