A different take on this North of England Geordie classic folk song. Swing style 'a la' Dave Brubeck, with a jazzy solo for euphonium thrown in for good measure. Arranged for ten piece brass ensemble. A Ten Piece (nine brass plus percussion), is a popular medium within the UK, based on the famous James Shepherd Versatile Brass (JSVB) line up, which mainly used instrumentation as follows: 4 Cornets (or Trumpets, with the 4th part doubling on Flugel), 1 Eb Tenor Horn, 2 Trombones (Tenor & Bass),  1 Euphonium, 1 Eb Bass & 1 Percussion. Additional parts for F Horn, Tenor Trombone (BC), Euphonium (BC) & Tuba (BC) are also included.

There'll Always Be an England is an English patriotic song, written and distributed in the summer of 1939, which became highly popular following the outbreak of the Second World War. It was composed and written by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles. A popular version was sung by Vera Lynn. 

It has been arranged here for the Brass Band or Ensemble with an optional Bass Guitar part.

Percussion parts include Timpani and Drum Set. There are parts for both Horns in Eb and F, Trombones 1-2 TC and BC, Euphonium TC or BC, Basses in Eb, Bb, and C.

Julius Katterfeldt was born in Wandsbek in 1813. Wandsbek was not yet part of Hamburg at that time. His father Johann Hinrich Katterfeldt was the organist at the famous Schnitger organ of Hamburg's main church St. Jakobi. He also gave his son first music lessons. Later he was a pupil of the famous Christian Heinrich Rinck in Darmstadt. Julius Katterfeldt was first organist at the church of St. Johannes in Eppendorf. In 1840, Katterfeldt was appointed by the Danish king to the post of cathedral organist in Schleswig. After the Schleswig-Holstein uprising (1848 to 1851) he had to give up his organist post at the cathedral. Friedrich von Reventlou (1797-1874) brought Katterfeldt to the monastery church in Preetz, where Renventlou was provost, because of the political quarrels over the county of Holstein. In Preetz he even had to take on sexton duties in addition to organ duties. After the war (Battle of Dybbøl/DK), Schleswig once again belonged to the Republic of Prussia. For this reason, the German Emperor had a new tower built for Schleswig Cathedral in 1864. It can be assumed that the church symphony by Julius Katterfeldt was composed for this purpose beforehand and was therefore later published by the renowned Berlin music publisher BOTE & BOCK. His Church Symphony Opus 18, for brassband and organ, is dedicated to the Prussian Emperor Wilhelm I. Katterfeldt’s Church Symphony is the first original symphonic work for the instrumentation organ and brass band. His son-in-law was the Schwerin cathedral organist George Hepworth (1825-1918). Through his contacts in England, some of J. Matthew Camidge (1758-1844) was a well-known local musician of Northern England, famous for his organ compositions, playing and conducting oratorios.

This arrangement of one of his compositions, the Gavotte in A minor taken from the solo in his concerto for organ - It is scored as a Brass Trio (Trumpet, Horn in F and Trombone) with an extra added repeated section.
