This piece was inspired by the image of a pond, with the scenery around it constantly changing. Even as new themes emerge in the piece, the same motive (the three cross-voice eighth notes) remains constant. The sound of this piece was also somewhat inspired by the works of Eric Whitacre. Great for late middle school / early high school ensembles.
