Funiculi, Funicula was an original Neapolitan song by Luigi Denza written to commemorate the opening of the funicular railway to Mt. Vesuvius. Although it was written in 1880, its melody is easily recognized even today. This is an exciting brass quintet arrangement of medium difficulty. Each part will play the melody at some point in the music.

Marche Funebre d'un Marionette (Funeral March of a Marionette) was originally written for solo piano in 1872 and orchestrated in 1879, and is perhaps best known as the theme music for the television program Alfred Hitchcock Presents. This would be a welcome addition to add to a Hallowe'en program or any concert of a popular nature. If time is short many of the repeated sections can be played once only. .

An ideal crowd-pleaser starting with a funky drum beat and bass line to get the audience bopping along from the beginning. This is ideal for an entertainment contest and has been played at the International Brass Band Summer School in Swansea. 

The piece starts from a basic funk drum beat with a simple bass line and different rhythmical ideas are built around from the rhythm section. This piece incorporates a typical ADBDC structure with some call and response from the band and percussion.  .

A New Orleans brass band funk orientated original composition for the standard British brass band set up. It has solo and whole band tutti sections and requires a good to very good ensemble to perform it. I wrote this as a piece to open the first or second half of a traditional concert. The ending itself requires players to move to the front of the stage for visual effects. The overall style needs a conductor and band to feel the funky groove and embrace the feel as well as the written notation.

Pachelbel's Funky Fugue is written for Brass Quartet (2Bb Trpts, Tbn. or Euph. and Tuba). This original composition follows the standard fugue form but has all new fun upbeat melodies for all four parts to pass around. This piece can be played by any intermediate level quartet. The length is two minutes and the range of each instrument is about an octave and a half (key of Bb). This piece is very audience friendly. It would fit well in any concert or park setting. A Brass Quintet could program this and let the horn player have a chops break and play tambourine. You and your audience will enjoy Pachelbel's Funky Fugue.
