Brass Ensemble Dance Collection

A Couple of years ago I was asked to do a few simple arrangements for a small brass ensemble that they could use for dancing. I chose some 'dance hall' classics from the golden era of the dance halls.

This is an arrangement of the classic Lew Pollack waltz number 'Charmaine'. It is simple, straightforward and does exactly what it says...

This arrangement of the audience favorite, That’s A Plenty is scored for 2 Bb trumpets and tuba. It’s a reduced version of our brass quintet arrangement of this piece. Our edition of this piece has been reduced to under 2 minutes, making it perfect for education shows when you want some Dixieland, but you don’t have all day. There’s enough written-in-improv lines (inspired by the Louis Armstrong recordings) to make it feel right, but without requiring actual improvisation. And, as always, there’s ample rest for the trumpets! This piece is so painless to play that it could be put at the end of any recital, no matter how tiring, and everyone can get through this last piece while taking the audience out with some Dixieland fun.
