Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town is a Christmas song written by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie. The earliest known recorded version of the song was by banjoist Harry Reser and his band on October 24, 1934. It was then sung on Eddie Cantor's radio show in November 1934. This version became an instant hit with orders for 500,000 copies of sheet music and more than 30,000 records sold within 24 hours. The version for Bluebird Records by George Hall and His Orchestra (vocal by Sonny Schuyler) was very popular in 1934 and reached the various charts of the day. The song has been recorded by over 200 artists, including Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters, The Crystals, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, Bill Evans, Chris Isaak, The Temptations, Michael Bublé, and The Jackson 5.

2020 SMP Press Composition Contest Entry for the Popular instrumental ensemble category: This is an arrangement for brass quintet, snare drum and cymbal(s) of the opening fanfare to Sylvester Stallone's first ROCKY movie. It may also be performed by a double/triple brass quintet, a larger brass ensemble, or the brass section of a concert band/orchestra, with percussion. For the sake of simplicity, the various, advanced cadenzas near the end of the original fanfare have been omitted. The duration is just under 2 minutes.
(According to Wikipedia: The film, made on a budget of just over $1 million, was a sleeper hit; it earned $225 million in global box office receipts, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1976... Among other accolades, it went on to receive ten Academy Award nominations, winning three, including Best Picture.)

Versatile Brass Old Time Collection

This is another arrangement from the concert I was asked to put together a few years ago to commemorate WW1 . I was asked to arrange a selection of music that was heard during the conflict, and to supplement that with songs from between the wars and from WW2... I arranged quite a few...

We'll Meet Again is a 1939 British song made famous by singer Vera Lynn with music and lyrics composed and written by English songwriters Ross Parker and Hughie Charles. The song is one of the most famous of the Second World War era, and resonated with soldiers going off to fight as well as their families and sweethearts.

The song gave its name to the 1943 musical film We'll Meet Again in which Dame Vera Lynn played the lead role. Lynn's recording is featured in the final scene of Stanley Kubrick's 1964 film Dr. Strangelove, and was also used in the closing scenes of the 1986 BBC television serial The Singing Detective. British director John Schlesinger used the song in his 1979 World War II film, Yanks, which is about British citizens and American soldiers during the military buildup in the UK as the Allies prepared for the D-Day Invasion.

The obligato euphonium part can be omitted if required. The vocal line is also on the 1st Cornet line so this could be played as a standalone item.

The classic Sibelius tune Finlandia has become the unofficial national anthem of Finland. This jazz arrangement is a new twist on a classic, prompted by a kid in my brass ensemble saying, why don't you do a jazz version of Finlandia - so I did. Salvation Is Created was conceived as a six-voice choral work in 1912. It is an arrangement of a Kievan chant, originally set in Church Slavonic, a slavic liturgical language still in use in some Orthodox denominations. The form is very simple, consisting of two nearly identical verses that differ only in their final cadences. This arrangement slightly pares down the traditional choral work into a five part horn choir piece.
