The Rains of Castamere comes from the soundtrack of HBO's acclaimed television series, Games of Thrones and has been arranged for traditional British brass band. The music is used to represent the Lanister family in the series, most notable, at the red wedding. The songs title comes from the History of Westeros, as the Reyne Family, a cadet branch of the House of Lanister, rebelled against their liege lords. The First 5 series is suitable for elementary level performers of all ages. Hamilton: An American Musical is a sung- and rapped-through musical about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, with music, lyrics, and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda, inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow.  Georgia on My Mind is a 1930 song written by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell.  It is one of the most-recorded American songs of all time.

Every instrument has a solo part of the melody with a fun/surprise entrance of Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho from the trombone that fits in perfectly.  The flowing harmonies offer the ensemble the opportunity to really listen and blend everything together.  Both players and the audience will hear, maybe for the first time, the actual introduction that Carmichael wrote for the main melody we all know as Georgia On My Mind.

James Bond for Brass Band Collection

A few years ago I decided to base my summer programme around a central theme of the James Bond movies. Audiences loved the concept and the pieces because they knew the tunes and could sing along. We also had a wonderfully versatile vocalist. This arrangement is one of the ones I did for her.

There is such a rich collection of theme songs available which people know and love. This particular arrangement is with a vocal Solo and is not simple. But is very playable by any competent brass band. There is nothing overly clever or difficult technically but rhythmically it needs to be precise. It will be enjoyable and playable by all levels of brass band. .
