A brass band revision of heavy metal band Slipknot's 2019 song Unsainted, off their 2019 record We Are Not Your Kind. This is quite a difficult, slightly dissonant piece, but can surely be watered down a bit for high school students. I arranged this for my wedding in 1990 – my wife walked up the aisle of the church while it was played. The varying time signatures in the first half of the piece didn’t seem to cause any issues in her arriving at the alter safely and we are still happily married after 30 years!

It can, of course, be used in any setting and if my suggested tempo seems a little on the quick side I’ll blame that on the length of the church nave. Pick a tempo which suits your situation and try to capture a majestic feel.

I Get Around was released by The Beach Boys in May 1964 and was included on their album All Summer Long. It became the band's first Number-One hit in the USA and is still immensely popular today. Among others, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers have covered this song.

This arrangement is a relatively straightforward idiomatic transcription for brass quintet in the same tonalities as the original, so you could even play along for fun.

The level is on the easier side of advanced; quickly rehearsed by professional groups and an accessible challenge for experienced students.
