Passacaglia and Fugue in C  minor (BWV 582) is an organ work composed by Bach early in his career. It is arguably   one of his greatest and most important works. The passacaglia starts with an  ostinato theme, followed by 20 variations. Immediately after the passacaglia,  without break, is a double fugue based on the ostinato theme. This arrangement  pays homage to the great transcriptions of Stokowski and Ormandy, by weaving  the colors of brass, organ and percussion into symphonic textures.  

Perfect for any recital,  concert or pops program. This arrangement is scored for brass quintet, organ  and a single percussionist (timpani, snare drum, suspended cymbal). Due to the  range of the first trumpet (to C6), parts are provided for trumpet in C, E-flat  and doubling on B-flat trumpet/B-flat piccolo (select whichever part works best  for you). Into the Void for brass ensemble and percussion is an exciting piece full of adventure, drama, and heroism. Dr. Josh Mize, director of the Pensacola Christian College Brass Ensemble, commissioned the work for the Spring 2020 chamber concert. It is reminiscent of an epic sci-fi story and depicts a group of space travelers flying into the void, a great expanse of mystery and nothingness. The piece begins with a preparation for adventure, and the journey is underway. Later, the travelers contemplate and reflect on their bold mission as they fly through a nebula, and the piece ends with a triumphant victory as they return from the adventure.

Scored for 4 trumpets, 4 horns, four trombones (4th is bass trombone), tuba, timpani, snare drum, suspended cymbal.

Nessun dorma (None shall sleep) is  an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot and is one of the best-known arias in all of opera.

Although Nessun dorma has long been a staple of  operatic recitals, Luciano Pavarotti popularized the piece well beyond the world  of opera with his many recordings and live performances. Nessun  dorma became his signature aria. Nessun dorma also appeared on the best selling classical album of all time, The  Three Tenors in Concert.

However, our favorite  version will always be the soul-infused rendition by Aretha  Franklin during the 1998 Grammy Awards, in which she sang in place of Luciano Pavarotti when he was unable to  perform due to throat problems.

This arrangement for brass  quintet, organ, timpani/suspended cymbal, includes a full score, organ, percussion and brass parts (trumpet parts are provided for both B-flat and C; percussion part is designed for one player). Perfect  for any concert and it makes a great encore, as well!
