It is arguably   one of his greatest and most important works. The passacaglia starts with an  ostinato theme, followed by 20 variations. Immediately after the passacaglia,  without break, is a double fugue based on the ostinato theme. This arrangement  pays homage to the great transcriptions of Stokowski and Ormandy, by weaving  the colors of brass, organ and percussion into symphonic textures.   Perfect for any recital,  concert or pops program. This arrangement is scored for brass quintet, organ  and a single percussionist (timpani, snare drum, suspended cymbal). Due to the  range of the first trumpet (to C6), parts are provided for trumpet in C, E-flat  and doubling on B-flat trumpet/B-flat piccolo (select whichever part works best  for you). Brass Quintet arrangement, in a simple arrangement.  This will work as a standard quintet (2 trumpets/cornets, horn, trombone, tuba), as a horn quintet or horn quartet plus tuba, or in various combinations of brass instruments such as used commonly in the standard British brass band.  There are multiple versions of every part designed for different transpositions: treble clef in C, Bb, F and Eb (for brass band and french horn players); as well as alto, tenor and bass clef (where appropriate) - for orchestral or military band brass players. The range of each part is quite small, meaning that there is a lot of flexibility for unusual instrument combinations - this is important for Christmas events, where player availability for gigs can be oddly mixed.  An optional drum part is included.  (A similar arrangement for recorder is also available, but this is in a different key - so parts would not be interchangeable.).

Bach's Trio Sonatas BWV 525-530 are some of the most popular and beloved works of the Baroque period. Composed in 1717, these six trio sonatas for the organ are among Bach's earliest works for the instrument. They are all in the traditional three-movement form and are composed in the style of the Italian concerto grosso, with two upper voices (treble and alto) and a basso continuo. The two upper voices often intertwine in intricate contrapuntal melodies, while the basso continuo provides harmonic support. The works are also full of virtuosic passages that demonstrate Bach's mastery of the organ. The Trio Sonatas are considered to be among the most important and influential works of the Baroque era, and they continue to be widely performed and studied today.The Bach Trio Sonatas have been successfully transcribed for a variety of ensembles, including wind, string, and brass ensembles. The parts are easily divided among a variety of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone.
