Violin Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.588384

By The Beatles. By John Lennon, John Winston Lennon, Paul James Mccartney, and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. 3 pages. David McKeown #5319413. Published by David McKeown (A0.588384).

When I’m Sixty-Four first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Despite the song’s appearance relatively late in the Beatles’ discography, it was one of the first songs that Paul McCartney wrote, at the age of 16. When the song was finally recorded in 1966, Paul McCartney felt it was too slow and turgid. George Martin simply solved the problem by speeding up the tape and raising the pitch by one semitone.

This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged in a suitable key and range for solo Violin.  Piano/Guitar chords are also included above the stave.

Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.

I Want It That Way is one of the Backstreet Boys' biggest hits, and anyone who grew up in the 90's and early 2000's probably knows this one by heart! This version for solo violin was originally written for a wedding ceremony, but it will also be perfect for cocktails, receptions, pop concerts, solo & ensemble contest, and any other occasion that needs some boy band throwback nostalgia -- you're sure to get everyone singing along! No accompaniment part -- it stands alone, or can be played with a backing track for solo gigs. This arrangement is rated advanced-intermediate for a few high notes and some tricky rhythms, and it will be playable for students and sightreadable for professionals. (Watch out for the key change to B major at the end!)

By The Backstreet Boys. By Martin Sandberg. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Contemporary,Pop,Wedding. 2 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #6372659. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.526292).

As Long As You Love Me was the second single from the Backstreet Boys' very first album. Released in 1997, the song soon became one of the band's biggest hits and is now considered one of their signature songs. It was impossible not to know this song back then, and it has since become a classic throwback song for the millennial generation! Maintaining the fun upbeat groove, passionate melody lines, and dynamic contrasts of the original, this arrangement for solo violin is just as much fun to play as it is to listen to, and it's sure to get everybody singing along! This chart was originally written for a wedding ceremony, but it will also be perfect for solo & ensemble concerts, receptions, cocktail hour, and any other occasion that needs some boy band throwback nostalgia. No accompaniment part -- it stands alone, or can be played with a backing track for solo gigs. Rated advanced-intermediate; there's nothing too crazy here, but there are some interesting syncopated rhythms throughout and it goes up to 4th pos. on the E string. This will be learnable for students and sightreadable for professionals.
