The idea is to give students plenty of learning material so that they have something new to tackle without the teacher necessarily telling them what to do. Being folk tunes, some of the students will already known the tunes, though they have been slightly adapted so that they can be played with the other stringed instruments without causing many technical challenges. If the students don't know the tunes, now is the chance to catch up on some traditions! The accompaniment book is available separately and includes parts for a violinist, the teacher or mature player and keyboard. Collections will be available for Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass. All can play and learn together and the books can be used for ensembles and for sight reading.Learning topics are included at the beginning of each Collection.
