Violin Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1040132 Composed by Mark O'Connor. Arranged by Mark O'Connor. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Folk. 10 pages. Mark O'Connor Musik International #644940. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.1040132). Caprice No. 7 in C Major (unaccompanied violin) MO176 Unaccompanied Violin Music by Mark O’Connor 6 pages - 3:15 minutes in length Caprice No. 7 in C Major for unaccompanied violin is a composition by Mark O’Connor derived from his own “Caprice For Three†he recorded with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer. Receiving great interest from performers, teachers and students of the violin, O’Connor has contributed music here which will challenge even the most gifted virtuoso. O’Connor’s caprices, like Nicolo Paganini’s and Pietre Locatelli’s, push the violin into a new direction, musically and technically, furthering the possibilities of the instrument. “Caprice No. 7†features demanding techniques which are desirable for study purposes, and at the same time, are accessible to concert audiences. The violinist will find passages containing complex rhythms, various spicatto and double-stopped runs. In addition to these specialized skills, the violinist must master the works’ driving and aggressive rhythms in order to perfect the performance of them. This collection is appropriate for the advanced student but isolated selections could be valuable for the intermediate. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts. Violin Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.861881 Composed by Mark O'Connor. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk. 39 pages. Mark O'Connor Musik International #6205799. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861881). Song Of The Liberty Bell (string parts; vlns, vla, cel, bs – violin and string orchestra) MO131C-GString Parts (score available)Music by Mark O’Connor39 pages - 5:00 minutes in length Song Of The Liberty Bell for violin and string orchestra was composed and orchestrated by Mark O’Connor and used as the theme song for the critically acclaimed PBS documentary, Liberty! The American Revolution. O’Connor wrote the piece to include three different instrument groupings - unaccompanied solo, folk ensemble, and string orchestra. The Sony Classical album Liberty! features Song Of The Liberty Bell in all three arrangements. Album notes author Thomas Fleming calls the music profoundly moving with exquisite melody. Fleming further describes the orchestral version - O’Connor joins in, and the instruments of the symphony pick up the theme. It is a musical replication of the way the voices of liberty in 1776 began with a lonely defiant few - and then swelled to a tremendous national chorus that has resounded through the world for the next two hundred and thirty-three years. The music is suited for all levels. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1996 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCan be heard on Liberty! Violin Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1514913 Composed by Ave Asán. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. 30 pages. Editorial Copistas Acuario #1089409. Published by Editorial Copistas Acuario (A0.1514913). ----------------------------------------------This piece is inspired by Suche Malinche, one of the characters of “El Gu?egu?ense o Macho Rato?n”, a Nicaraguan play and also Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. In this play, the Gu?egu?ense convinces Governor Tastuanes (Suche Malinche’s father) to marry the girl to one of his sons (Don Forcico). The Suche Malinche Prelude arises from the need to empower this woman, whose function in El Gu?egu?ense is to be an instrument to gain access to power. Neither her voice nor her will exist. That is why in the piece, La Suche (represented by the violinist) begins to question her silence, and prays to Guacha?n (San Sebastia?n, patron saint of Carazo); but instead of the saint, Quetzalco?atl appears to her, giving her courage and strength. Little by little she feels how her voice emerges, alternating with vowels and reiterated sounds, which are mixed with an impetuous violin, until she builds her speech and ends up saying: “Ya neme nequi nitipampa” (I am here, defending my cause.).
