He currently attends the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he is receiving his Master of Music in Music Composition. He currently studies Composition with Elinor Armer. His music explores the extent to which tonality can be stretched and feature playful, artistic score layouts that result in a free-flowing form, often relying on the performer to interpret the result of the musical ideas. Originally composed for violin solo, the viola version was made for violist Rebecca Matayoshi, who I met at the University of Illinois.
