Gabriel's Oboe is the main theme for the 1986 film The Mission directed by Roland Joffé. The theme was written by Italian composer Ennio Morricone, and has since been arranged and performed several times by artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, and Brynjar Hoff, among others.

The theme is borrowed and subsequently made into the vocal piece 'Nella Fantasia'

This is a medley of four famous tunes from Georges Bizet's masterpiece opera Carmen: March of the Toreadors (theme 1), Habanera, Toreador Song, and March of the Toreadors (theme 2). This arrangement for unaccompanied viola is a bit challenging. It makes an exciting addition to any concert.
