Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1307164 Composed by James M. Guthrie. 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Historic. Score. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #896418. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1307164). Lili of St. Luke'sbyFran OlsenIn 1990, a small black and white spotted dog, who had been found wandering, abused and sick in Surry County, Virginia, was scheduled to be put down by the Surry SPCA as unadoptable.  Three placements had failed because the young female was too afraid of the people.  Her last chance was Richard Lee Austin, curator of Historic St. Luke's Church in Smithfield, Virginia.  Austin had reluctantly agreed to look at the small spoodle.  He had just lost a beloved Pekingese of 18 years and did not want to go through the pain of another loss.  Lili, however, immediately seemed to know that this was her person, came directly to him and won his heart.  It was a mutual love affair.Lili went eagerly to work with Dick at the Gift Shop of Historic St. Luke's Church in Smithfield, Virginia, for the next 11 years.  She was gracious and never intrusive with the visitors.  Small children were able to approach Lili without fear.  She seemed to understand that she needed to be quite still with them.In 2000, Lili became the star of her own book, Lili of St. Luke's:  The Blessing of the Animals.  Written by Fran Olsen, a volunteer at the church, and illustrated by Buttons Boggs, the charming book tells the story of Lili's desire to go to church.  The animals in the church yard scoff at her.  She finally succeeds in going to church for the annual Blessing of the Animals service which commemorates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.  Since the book was published many children have come to the church to have their picture taken with Lili.Mrs. Olsen, who is also the publisher, has donated a dollar from the sale of each book to be shared with Historic St. Luke's Church and three area humane societies with which Lili has been associated.  Contributions in the first six months of publication were $1200.Lili died on June 7, 2001, from cancer.  A week before she died, she made a personal appearance at a local elementary school.  As always, she was gracious and gentle, even though later it was apparent that she was deathly ill.  A bronze statute is planned to honor the gentle spoodle and will be placed at the church so children can continue to have their picture taken with her.  This elegy was commissioned for performance at the annual Blessing service.

Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1117618 By Dr. Gregory Hamilton. By Dr. Gregory Hamilton. Arranged by Dr. Gregory Hamilton. 20th Century,Christian,Classical,Contemporary,Spiritual. Score. 148 pages. Dr. Gregory Hamilton #719161. Published by Dr. Gregory Hamilton (A0.1117618). These organ works are collected from a variety of sources, commissions, practical situations that appropriate music was called for, and occasions great and small. They form no program or sequence, but are simply a collection of various organ works composed over the past few years. They encompass many different styles, and I am sure that not all organists will resonate with each of these works. Few registrations are given, as it is expected that organists will need to solve registration challenges with the instrument at hand, and thus flexibility is expected. This collection is dedicated to the Memory of Dr. Marilyn Mason (Madame Mason) who taught at the University of Michigan for 63 years. A number of organists have recorded many of these pieces, and myself, a search on YouTube will reveal some of these. www.gregoryhamilton.org.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1316991 Composed by Alex Gibson, Hans Florian Zimmer, and Ryan Romeyn Rubin. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 29 pages. Anna Lapwood #904082. Published by Anna Lapwood (A0.1316991). Over the past couple of years I have written a number of film music transcriptions on and for the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London. While the transcriptions are written with this organ in mind, often calling for specific colours such as the bass drum, carillons or tubular bells, they are adaptable on a number of different instruments and I’ve loved tweaking them in order to play them on organs all across the world. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! I think the Interstellar soundtrack has done more to popularise the organ than anything or anyone else! I’ve chosen three of my favourite cues from the film and put them together into a suite. It can be performed in any order, with the pieces played one after the other or scattered throughout a recital programme.  - Anna Lapwood.

Organ - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7340 Composed by Naji Hakim. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 6 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q7340. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7340). Born in Beirut and trained at the Paris Conservatoire, the organist and composer Naji Hakim (*1955) has won numerous prizes both as a creative and as a performing artist. After having worked as an organist in Paris for many years, for example as successor to Olivier Messiaen at La Trinité, he has been composer-in-residence at the Royal Academy of Music in London since 2004. For the 100th anniversary of the Binns organ at the Albert Hall in Nottingham he was commissioned to write 'Fanfare for Nottingham'. The composer designed the work as 'a series of free and energetic variations on the melody of the hymn Nottingham accompanying a merry procession' – it has become a hymnic and effective work, a valuable addition to the organ repertoire.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1371858 By Bernd Foerster. By Bernd Foerster. Arranged by Bernd Förster. Classical,Contemporary,Spiritual. Individual part. 2 pages. Bernd Foerster #956045. Published by Bernd Foerster (A0.1371858). I'm starting into my year of organ compositions with a midtempo piece in A major. It features two distinctive crescendos, the second one should lead to a full organ sound. I had the idea of that motif two years ago and just took notes of the first five or six measures. Some weeks ago I ran into these notes once again after I had forgotton them completely. Then in one creative evening I was able to write the whole piece. Never had been more in such a creative flow state of mind before. I hope this piece will find its audience. I love it very, very much.I created a video on YouTube if you want to see which stops I used to create the crescendos. But feel free to find your own perspective on registrations.

Instrumental Solo,Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1305173 Composed by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Historic,Instructional. Individual part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #894609. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1305173). I performed the 2005 world premiere of Daniel Pinkham's St. Luke Organ Book, and composed/performed this piece as a prelude. In Nomine (aka the Little Time Machine) is based on the traditional tune In Nomine as a cantus prius factus. The little time machine moves through 600 years of musical style in 3 minutes. It begins as a 12th Century treatment, and morphs - period by historical period - all the way to the 20th Century. The premiere occurred at the Historic St. Luke's Organ Benefit Concert in 2005.

Organ - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7013 Te Deum. Composed by Enjott Schneider. This edition: Sheet music. Die 6. Orgelsinfonie Te Deum übernimmt die Fünfergliederung und einige Motive aus Bruckners Te Deum, um daraus ein kompaktes von Wucht und Gotteslob erfülltes Werk zu werden. Downloadable. Duration 28 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q7013. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7013). With his organ symphonies, the composer Enjott Schneider (born 1950) from Munich has been a profound sensation in recent years and seen world premieres at major European organ events. The Organ Symphony No. 6 'Te Deum' (premiered at Bruckner's St. Florian above Bruckner's tomb in 2008 and recorded there on CD) adopts the five-part structure and several motifs from Bruckner's 'Te Deum', thus becoming a forceful compact work pervaded by the Gotteslob. 1: 'Te Deum' is based on Bruckner's original figuration of fifths and eighths which is connected with the Latin Te Deum; 2: 'Te Ergo' is a 'preghiera' with pleading and praying gestures; 3: 'Aeterna fac' is an extremely virtuoso perpetuum mobile; 4: 'Salvum Fac' a basso ostinato and finally 5: 'In te, Domine speravi' a toccata which, after taking many detours, inevitably leads to the C major.

Organ - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534661 Composed by Claude Debussy/Robert Orledge. 20th Century,Concert,Halloween. Score. 16 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #5739561. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534661). Over the years 1908–16, Debussy had produced a viable scenario for Usher on his third attempt. But when he came to making a complete draft of the music, he seems to have lost interest during Roderick Usher’s long monologue, even though he was setting his own text. As in No-ja-li he jumped to the next passage that interested him, in this case the exciting final melodrama and the collapse of the Usher house itself. In the process of completing the missing half of the score, I discovered that by reusing Debussy’s material for similar psychological situations across the opera, and by metamorphosing existing ideas (as Debussy does with Mélisande’s theme in his opera Pelléas et Mélisande), the only things I really needed to add were linking material and any passages where fast music was required. So the ‘nightmare scherzo’, and Lady Madeline’s escape from her coffin and her final bloody revenge on her brother are all mine, but most of the rest is existing Debussy in changing contexts (in which the Russian technique of ‘changing backgrounds’, both harmonic and textural, proved extremely useful, as it did to Debussy in his Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune). Eventually, both my completed ballet No-ja-li and the House of Usher were successfully premiered in 2006 and the latter soon began to find its way into the established repertoire in Europe and the US. To further support this, I transcribed some of the highlights of Debussy’s score as A Night in the House of Usher for organ, and subsequently piano—with a focus on Scene 2 and the final, horrific and maca-bre melodrama. This climaxes in the double deaths of Roderick Usher and his Sister Madeline, together with the disintegration of the ill-fated House of Usher into the stagnant lake-all beneath a blood-red moon.In this form it was first performed by Ian Buckle in the Howard Assembly Rooms, Leeds in 2010.
