The first semiquaver in each arpeggio type phrase in the accompaniment played on the swell is an octave higher than in the original piano accompaniment. This enables the manual part of the accompaniment to be played with one hand on the swell and for the melody to be played on a solo stop on the great or choir with the other hand. For the repeat the solo melody may be played an octave lower on the Gt 8 diapason stop. The arrangement was requested by friends for their golden wedding celebration.

This arrangement has been written mainly for manuals but with an easy pedal part. This setting of the tune will make a welcome addition to your Christmas repertoire. The digital sound file lacks proper organ registrations, but allows you to imagine how you could register this music on your instrument. If you do not have an 8' trumpet available, use Gt 8'4' with sesquialtera for the solo and Sw 8'4'(2') for the accompaniment.
