Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1316105 Composed by Martin Luther. Arranged by Phil Lehenbauer. Advent,Christmas,Classical,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 6 pages. Phil Lehenbauer #904853. Published by Phil Lehenbauer (A0.1316105). This is the first movement from A Vom Himmel Hoch Triptych, a set of three works set to the Christmas hymn From Heaven Above to Earth I Come.  This movement is based on the verse that includes Welcome to Earth, O Noble Guest, and is meant to be a regal statement of the hymn tune.  It contains little motives from Joy to the world and Angels we have heard on high to heighten the Christmas flavor!  It was written and recorded on a two manual instrument.  The whole triptych is available on this website as well.  May this add a royal touch to your Christmas and Advent seasons!

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1315325 Composed by Hans Zimmer. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 8 pages. Anna Lapwood #904071. Published by Anna Lapwood (A0.1315325). Over the past couple of years I have written a number of film music transcriptions on and for the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London. While the transcriptions are written with this organ in mind, often calling for specific colours such as the bass drum, carillons or tubular bells, they are adaptable on a number of different instruments and I’ve loved tweaking them in order to play them on organs all across the world. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! When I was a teenager, my dad and brother would often choose the films we’d watch. When they chose Pirates of the Caribbean I was a bit sceptical at first because I thought it might be too scary, but I quickly fell in love with the film and its soundtrack – it became my favourite film series and I ended up listening to the soundtrack almost every day on the walk to and from school. In the films, the character of Davy Jones plays an iconic organ on his ship, the Flying Dutchman – I think it’s one of the most well-known organ references in contemporary cinema, and so it is one of my most requested pieces. I I also love the fact that Hans Zimmer includes a little nod to Bach’s Toccata in D minor, another piece which sits at the top of my request list. In the film, the start and end of this piece is played by a musical locket, perfectly replicated by the Celeste stop on the organ, although if a Celeste stop isn’t available then a soft 8’ flute would do the job!  - Anna Lapwood.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1315329 Composed by Hans Zimmer. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 10 pages. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! We all have those pieces of music that have a strong, almost formative, childhood memory associated with them, and Chevaliers De Sangreal is one of those pieces for me. I vividly remember watching the film for the first time with my family, hearing the music and feeling an incredible emotional response to it. I wanted to work out how the music worked, so I sat in bed with a torch and manuscript paper, writing out the harmony, and trying to understand how Hans Zimmer achieved such emotion through repetition and orchestration. Every time I play this I get reminded of the goosebumps I felt hearing it for the first time.  - Anna Lapwood.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1315319 By John Powell. By John Powell. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 10 pages. Anna Lapwood #904065. Published by Anna Lapwood (A0.1315319). I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! One of the soundtracks that I get asked to perform most regularly is Test Drive by John Powell. This is one of the earlier transcriptions I wrote, and I often use it as a piece to illustrate the difference between different organs. It’s quite useful to have one piece to use as a comparison point, so I post little videos of this wherever I’m playing to demonstrate how radically different the same piece of music can sound depending on the kind of instrument. For me, this piece feels like an instant serotonin boost. There is a great crescendo where you get to take the organ from relatively quiet to earth-shatteringly loud over the course of about 30 seconds, and I always say that playing that part feels a bit like flying a dragon! - Anna Lapwood

I’ve chosen three of my favourite cues from the film and put them together into a suite. It can be performed in any order, with the pieces played one after the other or scattered throughout a recital programme.  - Anna Lapwood.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.846375 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Christopher Evans. Romantic Period. Score. 4 pages. Christopher Evans #5776551. Published by Christopher Evans (A0.846375). I have arranged this march from the opera 'Gypsy Baron' by Johann Stauss II for organ solo following a request from one of my choir members, retired Major Ken Gaugh of The Royal Engineers, who was familiar with it as a military march, to which he had marched many times while on parade. Although I don't play it very often, it has become a popular piece at my own church attracting quite a number of humorous (in a complimentary way) comments because, when played on the organ it reminds people of the fairground!!! The indicated registration is for guidance only and can easily be adapted for individual instruments.
