Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1366923 Composed by John Burkett. Arranged by John Burkett. Classical,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score. 16 pages. John Burkett #951258. Published by John Burkett (A0.1366923). My Variations on St. Christopher (Beneath the Cross of Jesus) require a wide range of technical prowess from relatively easy (Variation II) to advanced (Variation VII).  The Theme presents the unadorned hymn tune with an original 4-part harmonization.  Variation I is another 4-part setting but with a more rhythmically active acompaniment in the lower voices.  Variation II, a duo for the hands alone, is in the dominant key where the tune is accompanied by an unrelenting stream of triplets.  Variation III is a 3-voice canon in which the tenor and pedal bass imitate the soprano, though with a certain amount of intervallic freedom.  Variation IV is a trio in which the middle voice presents an ornamented version of the hymn tune.  Variation V is a brief fughetta, while Variation VI presents the tune in the pedals against quietly undulating triplets in the hands.  The final variation (entitled Introduction and Fugal Fantasy) is by far the most challenging and employs considerable chromaticism toward the end.  I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process.  I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangememts of mine, some for organ and others for piano.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1315319 By John Powell. By John Powell. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 10 pages. Anna Lapwood #904065. Published by Anna Lapwood (A0.1315319). Over the past couple of years I have written a number of film music transcriptions on and for the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London. While the transcriptions are written with this organ in mind, often calling for specific colours such as the bass drum, carillons or tubular bells, they are adaptable on a number of different instruments and I’ve loved tweaking them in order to play them on organs all across the world. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! One of the soundtracks that I get asked to perform most regularly is Test Drive by John Powell. This is one of the earlier transcriptions I wrote, and I often use it as a piece to illustrate the difference between different organs. It’s quite useful to have one piece to use as a comparison point, so I post little videos of this wherever I’m playing to demonstrate how radically different the same piece of music can sound depending on the kind of instrument. For me, this piece feels like an instant serotonin boost. There is a great crescendo where you get to take the organ from relatively quiet to earth-shatteringly loud over the course of about 30 seconds, and I always say that playing that part feels a bit like flying a dragon! - Anna Lapwood

Published by Vidas Pinkevicius (A0.909301). Today I wanted to share my newest composition - Qui sedes, Domine which is based on the Gregorian chant Gradual for the 3rd Sunday in Advent. It is dedicated to organist Angela Kraft Cross. She visited Vilnius and played the organ at Vinius University St John's church last year.Although this Gradual is written in the 7th mode, to make it more colorful, I often changed and transposed the mode throughout the piece. It's a free paraphrase of Gregorian chant. The pedal maintains a dialogue with the hand part.PDF score. 5 pages. Duration - 4.5 minutes. Intermediate level. When you create, miracles happen!
