Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370464 Composed by John Burkett. Arranged by John Burkett. Classical,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score. 23 pages. John Burkett #954835. Published by John Burkett (A0.1370464). My Partita on Sweet Hour (Sweet Hour of Prayer) presents the theme with an original 4-part harmonization followed by five variations.  The first variation is a duo in which the tune is set against a continuous stream of sixteenth notes as accompaniment.  The second variation is a waltz in the key of F-sharp major in which an ornamented and expanded version of the melody is accompanied by a modified um-pah-pah accompaniment played by the feet and left hand.  By contrast, variation three, in the key of B minor, moves at a much slower pace and conveys a rather sombre mood.  The next variation set in 5/8 meter is somewhat like a scherzo.  Each phrase of the melody is in a different key and has modal inflections that lends it a mildly exotic character  The fifth and final variation is a toccata in the French style that requires panache and bravura.  The tune is intoned in slow moving rhythm by the feet while the hands provide a rapidly moving sextuplet accompaniment.  I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process.  I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1337830 Composed by John Burkett. Arranged by John Burkett. Classical,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 6 pages. John Burkett #923573. Published by John Burkett (A0.1337830). My Prelude on Converse (What a Friend We Have in Jesus) was conceived for a 3-manual organ.  A continuously moving disjunct bass line sounds from beginning to end.  It accompanies the tune played either as a string of individual pitches or in a chordal version.  At times a countermelody is pitted against the moving bass line and the tune creating a trio texture.  I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process.  I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534671 Composed by Claude Debussy/Robert Orledge. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #5775633. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534671). Noes by Robert Orledge: Debussy planned to compose seven pieces of incidental music for André Antoine’s production of Shakespeare’s King Lear (Le Roi Lear) in 1904 at the time of his elopement to Jersey with Emma Bardac. However, he never completed the project due to Antoine’s frequent postponements and unwillingness to provide the ‘30 musicians’ Debussy required to avoid ‘a feeble little sound like fleas rubbing their legs together!’ On the verso of the Fanfare manuscript from Debussy’s sketches, I discovered the start of an extremely moving little piece in a modal D minor, which could only be for ‘La Mort de Cordélia’ in Act 5, scene 3. I thought this would be best suited to a binary movement in which most of the first half, the striking chromatic introduction and the elegiac theme are all by Debussy. This pencil sketch turned up in 2000 in thecollection of Mrs Jayne Ericourt (wife of the pianist Daniel Ericourt) in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.

Instrumental Solo,Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1390106 Composed by Carson Cooman. 21st Century,Classical,Lent,Religious. Individual part. 7 pages. Carson Cooman #973618. Published by Carson Cooman (A0.1390106). Partita on “Herzliebster Jesu†(2023) is dedicated to Ralph Looij. It is a set of five variations on Johann Crüger’s classic Lenten/Passiontide hymn, appearing in English usually with the text “Ah, Holy Jesus, how hast thou offended.†In the typical manner, the variations present contrasting approaches to the chorale melody: the first, in three voices with a moving bass; the second, in three part retrograde canon; the third, in loose canon in two modes and speeds simultaneously; the fourth, under an ostinato rhythm; and the fifth, in chorale rhythm with a new harmonization.

Organ - Digital Download SKU: A0.1070254 Composed by Tito Abeleda. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Full Performance. Duration 302. Visionary Quest Records #4885883. Published by Visionary Quest Records (A0.1070254). Organ with Pedals - Level = Intermediate Composed by Tito Abeleda (1964- ) Digital Download - 9 pages. Duration=5 minutesI had been pondering about my piano piece Missing You. I wanted all the notes to resonate and soar in a way I couldn't initially figure out until a eureka moment popped in my head - the organ. I added organ pedals that create the perfect music canvas foundation while the moving melody and harmonies weave in and out of each other. The song takes a whole new meaning that which is more befitting of the cathedral pipe organ's emotive grandeur. In essence it sounded like a completely different song than its piano counterpart. So, I named this organ piece Mysterium Tenebris meaning, Dark Mystery in Latin. The song conveys just that, a sense of dark mystery with the organ's timbre resonating a Gothic musical flavor to the piece.  Contact info for Tito AbeledaEmail: tito@visionaryquestrecords.comVisionary Quest Recordshttps://www.visionaryquestrecords.comFollow Tito on Social Media:Facebook: https://www.facebookcom/titoabeledaTwitter: https://twitter.com/titoabeledaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/tabeleda

Organ - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890713 Composed by John Pitts. Baroque,Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 20 pages. Intensely Pleasant Music #3424723. Published by Intensely Pleasant Music (A0.890713). Passacaglia (2000-2012) for Organ - 6 minutes  This piece exists in versions for organ (this one - the original version in 2000) and orchestra (performed by Bristol University Symphony Orchestra under the baton of John Pickard in 2001), and finally a piano duet version completed in 2012.   The theme is based on the ground bass from Bach’s stonking Passacaglia in C minor for organ. However, the implied harmonies of Bach’s original ground bass are treated to some twisted harmonies – where each chord is altered using a system of harmonic substitution - swapping each chord implication for a newly chosen one (Cm=C, Fm=F#, G=A, Dm=A¨, Eb=F and on it goes around the 12 chromatic notes).  Each key therefore has a ‘dominant’ and ‘subdominant’ that are not the actual chords V and IV in that key, so the traditional cadences and chord relationships are supplanted by 12 individual 3-chord relationships – one set of three chords for each of the 12 (now almost exclusively major) keys. In an attempt to recreate the pulls of the traditional tonic-dominant-subdominant relationships, each key then also has a particular mode/scale with particular added notes that are designed to recreate the sense of moving away from and back towards the home chord of that key. This results in a lot of rich added harmonies and some idiomatic voice-leading. Bach’s original theme in Cm is: C G - E¨ F - G A¨  - F G - D E¨ - B C -   F G   - C, and in the opening statement of the ground bass this has become: C A - E F# - A B¨ - F# A - D# E - C# C - F# A - C. There are then 21 variations which modulate through a range of keys, during which the ground bass is constantly re-adjusted to fit the new harmonic areas. It starts in C major, then goes through ‘closely’ related keys (eg A major and A¨ major), and then back to C in variations 6, 9 and 11. This kind of arch then happens again but going through more distant keys before returning to C in variations 18, 19 and the final climactic variation 21. Leaving aside the structural and tonal nuts and bolts, my aim was to compose a piece that attempts to recapture some of the nobility and beauty of Bach's Passacaglia, with rich added note harmonies, and exuding an exuberant joy.
