Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Leyandder Trustworthy. Baroque,Christian,Easter,Sacred,World. Score. 3 pages. Leyandder Trustworthy #6331227. Published by Leyandder Trustworthy (A0.964505).

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is a popular piece of choral music. It was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is the 10th movement of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. It was written during Bach's first year in Leipzig, Germany. Bach did not compose the melody. That was written by Johann Schop. Bach only harmonized and orchestrated Schop's melody. A transcription of Jesu was done by English pianist Myra Hess (1890-1965), and was published in 1926 for solo piano.
In 1934, Hess' version was adapted for piano duet. British organist Peter Hurford made a transcription of Jesu for organ. Today, Bach's piece is often performed at weddings and funerals. Bach wrote the piece for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings and continuo. Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is one of Bach's most enduring pieces of music.
The present version is a facilitated reduction of the theme where it is soloed by Organ and chords. Ideal for young music students in the area, if you don't have a teacher to play along, search for item number: S0.1006121, here is an audio playback so you can play and study with ease and fluidity.

SKU: A0.932692

Composed by Johann Cruger. Arranged by Terry M. Forsyth. Christian,Easter,Instructional,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. Forsyth Publishing #6113429. Published by Forsyth Publishing (A0.932692).

This Good Friday composition of 2 minutes uses the accompanying figure for the JS Bach composition A Voice Saith 'All Are Mortal' is used with this hymn with melody in pedal.  The concept is by the men doing their job of performing crucifixions seem to have had no idea who was one of the men they were to crucify that day--Jesus was just another victim of their day's work.  The voix celeste is indicated because if this were orchestrated in the baroque period, the accompanying figure would be strings so it is here.  Great for congregations where music is restricted to hymns people know, also good for students learning use of pedalboard because slow meter yet relatively constant movement.  Hymn tune:  Herzliebster Jesu.

Composed by Hans Zimmer. Arranged by Anna Lapwood. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Individual part. 10 pages. Anna Lapwood #904075. Published by Anna Lapwood (A0.1315329).

Over the past couple of years I have written a number of film music transcriptions on and for the organ of the Royal Albert Hall in London. While the transcriptions are written with this organ in mind, often calling for specific colours such as the bass drum, carillons or tubular bells, they are adaptable on a number of different instruments and Iā€™ve loved tweaking them in order to play them on organs all across the world. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as Iā€™ve enjoyed writing them!Ā

We all have those pieces of music that have a strong, almost formative, childhood memory associated with them, and Chevaliers De Sangreal is one of those pieces for me. I vividly remember watching the film for the first time with my family, hearing the music and feeling an incredible emotional response to it. I wanted to work out how the music worked, so I sat in bed with a torch and manuscript paper, writing out the harmony, and trying to understand how Hans Zimmer achieved such emotion through repetition and orchestration. Every time I play this I get reminded of the goosebumps I felt hearing it for the first time.

Motet after Friedrich RĆ¼ckert for Double Male Choir (Organ ad lib.). Composed by Robert Schumann. This edition: separate part. Downloadable, Individual part. Op. 93. Schott Music - Digital #Q50149. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q50149).

German.

At first described as 'religious song' by Schumann, the motet 'Verzweifle nicht' could be heard with organ accompaniment for the first time on 4 July 1850 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the University's choral society St. Pauli in Leipzig. He wrote the organ version specifically for this performance for he had originally planned an orchestral accompaniment. That, however, could only be completed later and was eventually premiered in 1853. In a letter to Schumann, Herrmann Langer, the conductor of both world premieres, mentioned 'the wonderful effect which the same has produced' and that, to him, 'the motet was one of the most stimulating and inspiring creations in male-voice literature'.

For Organ. Composed by Qi Zhang. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 10 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q20071. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20071).

ā€œWith their pure fresh aroma, the tea leaves meet the steaming water that gurgles down into the purple clay teapot. The leaves begin to dance a mystic step, sing a historical song, and celebrate a great time with their best friends. From commonplace tiny sticks, they are reborn as beautiful elves. They stretch their bodies, roll down to the bottom, and float up to the lip of the teapot. Affected by their happiness, the water utters a sweet, elated and joyful whisper. The story can be smelt, observed and felt by hearts.ā€ Inspired by the Chinese history and culture of tea, I composed Symphony in the Teapot in 2005. Because there were very few pipe organs in China, this work was originally written for Electone Organ, an electronic instrument featuring orchestral and newly developed electronic sounds. In 2009, at the suggestion of Cherry Rhodes and Jean Guillou, I arranged this piece for pipe organ and played the European premiere in Ɖglise Saint-Eustache in Paris. (Qi Zhang).
