Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088939 By Jubal's Lyre Music. By Martin Dicke. Christian,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 4 pages. Jubal's Lyre Music Publishers #693148. Published by Jubal's Lyre Music Publishers (A0.1088939). Here is a vibrant Chorale Prelude with a vigorous ritornello on the hymn I Will Sing My Maker's Praises (SOLL'T ICH MEINEM GOTT) by Johann Schop (c. 1590-1644). Inspired by the hymn improvisations of Paul Manz (1919-2009), it is particularly effective to solo out the melody on a strong solo trumpet, but the melody may also be played with full organ. This setting may be used to introduce the hymn, as a Prelude or Postlude for a worship service, or as as a stand-alone, hymn-based work on an organ concert. Mixed choir (SATB) and organ - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q26244 Motette auf Worte des Ezzoliedes von 1063. Composed by Peter Paul Foerster. This edition: choral score. Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Schott Music - Digital #Q26244. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q26244). German. The motet 'Da ward geborn ein Kind' by the composer and choir director Peter Paul Förster from Wuppertal is based on words from Ezzolied. This multi-verse poem on the miracles of Christ, written by the canon Ezzo from Bamberg in 1083, marked the beginning of early Middle High German literature. From this poem, Förster took verses on the birth of Christ and the praise to Mary and turned them into a singable choral work for mixed choir (SATB) and organ the tonal language of which can be 'placed between archaic church mode and modern music'. Förster's fondness of Gregorian quotes becomes apparent in the repeated use of the Gregorian chorale 'Puer natus est nobis'. A musical Christmas gem for (church) choirs at an advanced level.

Masters of the North German School for Organ. Downloadable. Op Band 20. Schott Music - Digital #Q47851. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47851). The composer and organist Paul Siefert, baptized in Gdansk on 28 June 1586 and died there on 6 May 1666, belongs to the 'North German organ school'. Thanks to a grant of the town council of Gdansk, Siefert spent the years from 1607 until probably late 1610 studying in Amsterdam where he got important ideas and suggestions as a pupil of Sweelinck. After his return he became deputy organist in Gdansk. From 1611 to 1616 he worked as an organist first at the church in the old town of Königsberg, then at the Warsaw court orchestra. On 23 September 1623 he was appointed organist at the Marienkirche of Gdansk in succession to Michael Weyda where he worked until the end of his life. This edition of his organ works contains 13 fantasias, two chorale preludes and a motet as well as a detailed description of the work in the preface and in the critical report.

Organ - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q50149 Motet after Friedrich Rückert for Double Male Choir (Organ ad lib.). Composed by Robert Schumann. This edition: separate part. Downloadable, Individual part. Op. 93. Schott Music - Digital #Q50149. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q50149). German. At first described as 'religious song' by Schumann, the motet 'Verzweifle nicht' could be heard with organ accompaniment for the first time on 4 July 1850 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the University's choral society St. Pauli in Leipzig. He wrote the organ version specifically for this performance for he had originally planned an orchestral accompaniment. That, however, could only be completed later and was eventually premiered in 1853. In a letter to Schumann, Herrmann Langer, the conductor of both world premieres, mentioned 'the wonderful effect which the same has produced' and that, to him, 'the motet was one of the most stimulating and inspiring creations in male-voice literature'.

Organ - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.909270 Composed by Vidas Pinkevicius. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 8 pages. Vidas Pinkevicius #3540609. Published by Vidas Pinkevicius (A0.909270). In the fall of 2013 my friend and colleague, Paulius Grigonis who is the organist at St Joseph church here in Vilnius was preparing to play a recital at Vilnius Cathedral around Christmas time. He approached me asking for advice about the pieces he could be playing.I offered him to compose a set of 6 variations on the famous Christmas tune Adeste fideles and he agreed too much hesitation (too bad).I started working on the composition but got stuck at the end of the 5th variation. I used major and minor chords only. My goal was to create something colorful and modern and yet understandable to the listener.Because of these simple chords the harmonies are very clear and transparent. What makes it sound modern though is that I avoid traditional chordal progressions of the perfect fourth and perfect fifth. This would imply tonic-dominant, dominant-tonic, tonic-subdominant, subdominant-tonic relationship. But I didn't want this. I wanted to surprise my audience and my friend Paulius. So I chose all kinds of progressions - minor and major seconds, minor and major thirds, even a tritone to keep it fresh. However, the result was too difficult to play for Paulius on a short notice and I got side-tracked with other projects. Although the idea of completing the variations never left me.So last weekend I sat down and added the last variation with a CODA.I hope you'll enjoy this piece which is dedicated to Paulius.8 pages, PDF score. Advanced level.
