Herzlich willkommen zu einem meiner Projekte für 2023. Ich komponiere zu bekannten Chorälen und Hymnen leicht zu erlernende Orgelpräludien und -intonationen, die vor, während und nach einem Gottesdienst, aber auch als Vorspiel/Nachspiel zu einem Gemeindelied, vorgetragen werden können. Mir ist es wichtig, dass diese Kompositionen für möglichst viele Organisten spielbar sind. Die neue Reihe geht weiter mit dem Choral NUN DANKET ALLE GOTT.

Welcome to one of my projects for 2023. I compose easy-to-learn preludes to well-known chorales and hymns, which can be performed before, during and after a service, but also as a prelude/postlude to a congregational song. Wenn Sie mit den Noten zufrieden sind, würde ich mich über eine Rückmeldung freuen. Wenn Sie nicht zufrieden sind, würde ich mich bemühen, die Noten zu verbessern.

This organ-arrangement (Partita) is about the song Der Mond ist aufgegangen. First you hear a mystical chorale playing with fifths, then a cantus firmus in alto register, a cantus firmus in tenor register and finally the well-known chorale slightly improvised. The evening song is a poem by Matthias Claudius, which is one of the most famous works of German literature and is known as a Christian song under the title of the first verse Der Mond ist aufgegangen (Behold the moon has risen) in the setting by Johann Abraham Peter Schulz.

Dieses Orgel-Arrangement (Partita) habe ich über das Lied Der Mond ist aufgegangen geschrieben. Zuerst hört ihr ein Quinten-Choralspiel, dann einen Cantus firmus in Alt Lage, einen Cantus firmus in Tenorlage und zum Schluss den bekannten Choral leicht improvisiert. Das Abendlied ist ein Gedicht von Matthias Claudius, das zu den bekanntesten Werken der deutschen Literatur gehört und unter dem Titel des ersten Verses Der Mond ist aufgegangen in der Vertonung von Johann Abraham Peter Schulz als christliches Lied bekannt ist.

In the 18th century mechanical musical instruments, such as flute and harp clocks, found their way into wealthy town houses. In the 1770s Frederick the Great founded in Berlin workshops for the manufacturing of mechanical clocks. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach composed at least thirty pieces of music for these instruments. Kurt Walther (1907-1989) was known for his excellent editions. In this edition, he has put together a representative selection of pieces from Wotquenne directory # 193 in the version for organ (piano, harpsichord or harp).
