His compositions make use of the full range of colours which the organ is capable of producing and handle the instrument with virtuoso skill and sensitivity to tone colour. Guillou achieved international success with his piece �Alice in Organ land� (ED 8677) for organ and narrator, which he performed in many countries around the world, amusing and entertaining audiences of children and adults while increasing their familiarity with the nature of the instrument. In Seoul on a concert tour in 1993 he was given as a theme for improvisation the Korean melody SÄYA, a simple four-note melody which sings the praises of a �blue bird� with very poetic words. A rewarding piece that is not too demanding, suitable for concert performance and teaching purposes.

FESTIVE PSALM, a bridal recessional, is the 3rd of three pieces in the set, COME WITH JOY.  This wedding suite contains a bridesmaids' processional (REGENCY), a bridal fanfare and march (SONG OF JOY), and a bright, quickly paced recessional (FESTIVE PSALM), which incorporates the melodies of the first two processionals in the B section.  The bridal fanfare and bridal march was written for our daughter's wedding and later the other two were written in complimentary keys to complete the suite.  Each piece may also be used separately, however, and do not have to be used together, however, there is a sense of unity of thought and of keys if all three are used in the wedding service.This suite answers the need of brides who wish to have new music to use for her special day.   With this suite, even though it was written as a cohesive group, the bride may choose to use as many or as few as she wishes.An audio file of FESTIVE PSALM is included here. The recessional, FESTIVE PSALM, is lengthy and can accommodate large wedding parties without continuous repetition of the main theme.  There are several sections in the work, keeping the interest level high because there's no continuous repetition of one main theme.  For smaller wedding parties, where less exit music is needed, there are markings of suggested jump spots so that an entire section, or sections, can be omitted. She visited Vilnius and played the organ at Vinius University St John's church last year.Although this Gradual is written in the 7th mode, to make it more colorful, I often changed and transposed the mode throughout the piece.It's a free paraphrase of Gregorian chant. Schadl (A0.912512). Based on Matthew 28:30 and Psalm 16, the piece is about hope in God’s presence in our hearts. From the beginning of the piece to the hymn section, one shall hear a minimalistic trait in the accompaniment. The opening part also contains a melody that paints a darker picture of life, but gradually builds up excitement toward the section where my arrangement of the famous hymn ALL MY HOPE ON GOD IS FOUNDED by Herbert Howells (1891-1982) is stated. After the playing of the hymn, the piece becomes gradually quieter until the end, symbolizing the assurance of peace and love. Organ registrations and tempo indications are only suggestions. The piece is suitable for recital purposes and may be performed in church-related events.
